An Evening Walk in the City
Hello Hive!
I have not been active here for quite a while. Frankly speaking I missed interacting in this platform. I hope everyone is doing great while I was away.
An Evening Walk In The City
Last Wednesday, January 28, I decided to walk my way to the swimming pool to meet with our swimmers trainor. I used to take a long a few times a month before. However, I haven't done so for almost a year now. The weather was perfect for an evening walk. I thought I could take some snapshots too.

The Roxas City Immaculate Concepction Cathedral
The Roxas City Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral or also known as the Metropolitan Cathedral, stood in the heart of the city for centuries. It was built in 1852.

The Roxas City Plaza Fountain
Another landmark for Roxas City is the City Fountain at the rotunda. This fountain reached its one hundredth year last year. It went through several design changes and restoration.
It was restored to maintain its original look with improvement on the fountain system and added dancing colored lights.

Behind the fountain is another century-old building, the Capiz Provincial Capitol. This was built in 1911.
The Roxas City Centennial Bridge.

What's amazing about this bridge is that it is still functional even if it's more than a hundred years old. It was built by the American Engineers in early 1900s. Although, I think it was last year that the local government no longer allows heavy trucks to pass by this bridge. They added colored lights on the bridge a few years ago.
The Old Business Area
Roxas Avenue was the old business center of the city. When I was young, whenever someone needs to shop or needs some hardware, this was the place to go to. This was where you will find most of the stores, banks and even a couple of movie houses.

These days, it is still a commercial district; however, as the population grew, new businesses were built in other parts of the city.

All in all, I walked a few meters short of 2 Kilometers. I used to walk about 7 to 10 kilometers. However, I have not it for quite some time, so I felt tired after that.
I guess I have to do it again soon and more frequently.
In Closing
Walking is a good exercise. I guess it's one of the activities that I owe to the fact that my heart is still in good condition.
These days there are some apps that pay you to walk, have you tried that?
