I think I've said it in almost all of my posts this week.... But I need to keep saying it at the very least for catharsis: "It's been raining here every day for weeks".... And that's not a good thing for someone like me, whose main habit in the mornings is to go for a walk and take photos.

Creo que ya lo he dicho en casi todos mis publicaciones de esta semana... Pero necesito seguir diciéndolo cuando menos para hacer catarsis: "Aquí ha estado lloviendo a diario durante semanas"... Y eso no es algo bueno para alguien como yo, cuya principal costumbre en las mañanas es salir a caminar y a hacer fotos.

I have nothing against rain.... On the contrary, I like relatively cloudy weather from time to time, but what's happening this year is clearly too much... So today when I woke up (5:00 AM) I noticed that "it wasn't raining" so I quickly made some breakfast, fed my dogs and cats and went out to take pictures.

Yo no tengo nada en contra la lluvia... Por lo contrario, me gustan los climas relativamente nublados de vez en cuando, pero lo que sucede este año es a todas luces demasiado... Así que hoy al despertarme (5:00 AM) observé que "no estaba lloviendo" así que rápidamente hice algo para desayunar, dí de comer a mis perros y gatos y salí a hacer fotografías.

^{-The municipal buildings were painted in rather "tropical" colours (I would say)... I think they are related to the party to which the current authorities belong, although they say that they are: "The green of the fields and the orange of the citrus fruits"... But at least oranges are no longer grown in our municipality (a virus called "yellow dragon" has infected and killed all the citrus fruits in the valley)... Anyway, at least the walls have been painted and the wooden doors and windows will soon be restored.}

Creo que están relacionados con el partido al cual pertenecen las autoridades actuales, aunque ellos dicen que se trata de: "El verde de los campos y el naranja de los cítricos"... Pero cuando menos naranjas ya no se cultivan en nuestro municipio (un virus llamado "dragón amarillo" infectó y mató la totalidad de los cítricos del valle)... Como sea, cuando menos están pintadas las paredes y próximamente van a restaurar la madera de las puertas y ventanas..}

I decided to walk close to my house, as the skies were predicting that it wouldn't be too long before the heavy rain would return.... So I remembered that recently the municipality painted the old houses where their offices are located in rather bright orange and green colours and I thought I would walk around to take some pictures of the doors and windows of those offices, framed in those cheerful colours (personally I would prefer more sober colours, but these are not so bad after all).

Decidí caminar cerca de mi casa, pues el cielo presagiaba que no pasaría demasiado tiempo antes de que la pertinaz lluvia volviese... Así que recordé que recientemente la municipalidad pintó las viejas casas en donde funcionan sus oficinas con colores naranjas y verdes bastante llamativos y se me ocurrió caminar por allí para hacer algunas fotos de las puertas y ventanas de esas dependencias, enmarcadas en esos alegres colores (personalmente preferiría colores más sobrios, pero estos no están tan mal después de todo).

^{-The twin gates of the old post office (IV) now owned by the municipality and the huge gate of the municipal chronicler's house (VI) were also surrounded by the "orange and green tide"... ha ha ha ha.... I insist, they are relatively "tropical" colours and it is very sure that they bought them with a "wholesale offer"... Because these are old and huge houses that require a lot of painting!... :-)}

^{-Las puertas gemelas de la antigua oficina de correos (IV) hoy propiedad de la municipalidad también y las enorme puerta de la casa del cronista municipal (VI) también fueron rodeadas por la "marea naranja y verde"... ja ja ja... Insisto, son colores relativamente "tropicales" y es muy seguro que los compraron con una "oferta al por mayor"... ¡Porque estas son casas antiguas y enormes que requieren gran cantidad de pintura!... :-)}

So these photographs correspond to a short foray into the surroundings of the Bolivar Square of my town, in the vicinity of which are those old houses that serve as the headquarters of the municipal offices.

Así que estas fotografías corresponden a una corta incursión en los alrededores de la Plaza Bolívar de mi pueblo, en cuyos alrededores están esas viejas casonas que fungen como sedes de las oficinas municipales.

I also took the opportunity to take a couple of photos of the doors of the parish church and even of one of the windows of a house that belonged to my maternal uncle and is now in the hands of my cousins, whose walls were coincidentally also painted in a shade of orange, although this one is less intense ..... Oh, I forgot, I also captured an old window belonging to the public dining room run by the parish.

También aproveché de hacer un par de fotos de las puertas del templo parroquial e inclusive de una de las ventanas de una casa que fue de mi tío materno y que hoy en día está en manos de mis primos, cuyas paredes casualmente también fueron pintadas en un tono naranja, aunque este es menos intenso.... ¡Ah! lo olvidaba, también capturé una vieja ventana perteneciente al comedor público gerenciado por la parroquia.

^{-Fortunately our parish church is not under the ornamental command of the municipality and this has allowed it to keep its elegant colonial yellow and white colours... Good heavens, I don't want to imagine this tempo painted in orange and dark green... ha ha ha ha :-)}

^{-Afortunadamente nuestra iglesia parroquial no está bajo el comando de ornato de las municipalidad y esto le ha permitido conservar sus elegantes colores amarillo colonial y blanco... ¡Santos cielos, no quiero imaginarme este tempo pintado de naranja y verde obscuro!... ha ha ha :-).}

Be that as it may, all the photos were taken around the four streets surrounding Bolivar Square... Fortunately, before leaving, I took the Sigma Zoom 18-200mm lens apart and fitted my camera with a 35mm prime lens which is wonderfully suited to this type of work which requires a lot of light and minimal distortion, as well as the lovely definition this lens gives at apertures of F/4.5 and F/5...

Sea como sea, todas las fotos las hice en torno a las cuatro calles que circundan la Plaza Bolívar... Afortunadamente antes de salir, desmonté el lente Sigma Zoom 18-200mm y le coloqué a mi cámara un lente de focal fija 35mm el cual es maravillosamente adecuado para este tipo de trabajos que requieren mucha luminosidad y un mínimo de distorsión, además de la encantadora definición que brinda este lente en aperturas de F/4.5 y F/5...

^{-And finally, the old window of the dining room managed by the parish... I remember as a child stepping up to look in through this window, because it was there that catechism was taught to the children of the village...}
