Join me today for this unique perspective on some natural spaces around my town... It's already January, and the dry season is well underway. Shapes, lights, and shadows, full of drama, begin to appear in almost every direction you look. This translates into photographs of distinct character when you know where to point the lens...

Acompáñenme hoy en esta visión particular de algunos espacios naturales en los alrededores de mi pueblo... Ya estamos en Enero y la temporada de sequía está bien entrada. Entonces comienza a aparecer formas, luces y sombras cargadas de drama en casi cualquier dirección que se mira. Esto se traduce en fotos de distinto carácter cuando se sabe hacia donde apuntar el lente...

Over time, one becomes a sort of "space finder" in the places where photographs are taken, and nature is no exception. One learns to see interesting things in many spots where others might see nothing. This is how bushes, paths, hills, the sun itself, and even emptiness can become elements with which to compose and express oneself. Whether it's something explicit or a slightly more complex abstraction, nature has much to offer meter by meter, and this is even more true when fog becomes the backdrop, as is so common here in my town...

Con el paso del tiempo, uno se convierte en una especie de "encontrador de espacios" en los lugares en donde se hacen fotografías, y la naturaleza no es la excepción. Entonces, uno aprende a ver cosas interesantes en muchos puntos en donde quizás otros no vean nada. Es así como los matorrales, los caminos, las colinas, el sol mismo, y hasta el vacío, pueden convertirse en elementos con los cuales componer y expresarse. Ya sea algo explícito, o una abstracción un poco más compleja; la naturaleza tiene mucho para dar metro a metro, y esto es aún más cierto cuando la niebla se convierte en el telón de fondo, como es tan común aquí en mi pueblo...
