Years ago, when I visited natural areas on my walks around town, I used to take the vast majority of my photos horizontally, often with wide-angle lenses. I suppose that because I was in open spaces, I instinctively shot most of my photos that way, intending to capture the landscape views. Only when I found a close-up detail that I liked, or a wide view that compelled me to do so, would I take the occasional vertical photo. Then, when I got home and downloaded the photos from my camera's memory card to process and edit them, those "very specific" vertical photos caught my attention, and I ended up wishing I had taken more shots oriented that way. That's why, over the years, I learned to "observe both horizontally and vertically" when visiting these kinds of places (And in every situation, to be more precise)...

Años atrás, cuando visitaba espacios naturales en mis caminatas alrededor del pueblo, solía hacer la gran mayoría de mis fotos en horizontal y muchas veces con distancias focales para ángulo ancho. Supongo que por el hecho de estar en lugares abiertos, instintivamente disparaba así gran parte de mis fotos con la intención de capturar las vistas de paisaje. Únicamente cuando encontraba algún detalle cercano que me gustase o una vista amplia la cual me forzara a hacerlo, tomaba alguna ocasional fotografía en vertical. Entonces, cuando volvía a casa y descargaba la memoria de mi cámara para luego dedicarme a procesar y editar, esas "muy puntuales" fotos verticales llamaban mucho mi atención y terminaba yo desenado haber hecho más capturas orientadas de esa manera. Es por eso, que con el paso de los años, aprendía a "observar tanto horizontal como en vertical" cuando visito este tipo de lugares (y en toda situación, para ser más preciso)...

But getting back to today's topic, the truth is that the place was impressively solitary and silent yesterday morning, and the very dense fog practically begged me to take a lot of photos there. I found myself taking horizontal and vertical shots, sometimes alternating between them, and other times I would take horizontal photos on the way there and then retrace my steps to photograph everything vertically. That's how I ended up with more than 300 photos from different perspectives taken on a walk of just over two kilometers...

Pero volviendo a mi temática de hoy, lo cierto es que el lugar estaba impresionantemente solitario y silencioso la mañana de ayer y la presencia de la neblina muy densa llamaba a hacer un montón de fotos allí. Entonces me descubrí a mi mismo haciendo capturas horizontales y verticales de manera intercalada algunas veces, pero también en otro momento hacía el trayecto de ida capturando en horizontal y luego volvía sobre mis pasos para volver a hacer el recorrido fotografiando todo pero en vertical. Así fue como terminé con más de 300 fotos de distintas perspectivas hechas en un recorrido de poco más de dos kilómetros...

Regarding my processing and editing work, I've treated each photo according to my individual perceptions. I'm not one to use presets, so I simply take my RAW files and work on them intuitively, allowing myself to feel a bit like I'm "painting on a canvas" with each image. This is how I end up with photos that have considerable variations in color temperature, sharpness, clarity, and contrast, and this is how I love spending time sitting in front of my PC doing this work, which I'm always happy to share with you here at #Hive... 😉

Con respecto a mi trabajo de procesado y edición; he tratado cada foto según lo que percibo en ellas individualmente. No soy un tipo de usar presets, así que simplemente tomo mis RAWs y trabajo en ellos de manera intuitiva, permitiéndome a mi mismo tener la sensación de estar un poco "pintando en un lienzo" con cada imagen. Es así como termino con fotos que tienen variaciones considerables en las temperaturas de colores, la nitidez, la claridad y los contraste, y es así como amo pasar tiempo sentado en frente de mi PC haciendo este trabajo el cual me complazco en compartir para ustedes siempre en #Hive... 😉
