TOWN IN... "VERTICAL" || MONOMAD || ENG-ESP || (8 Pics)

tcats.jpg

From time to time, one of the hardest things I have to do is simply: "wake up together with myself".... Yes, I know, I started this post sounding very strange. But I simply mean my "natural" character oscillations... and I also mean that today I woke up and started early on to question everything, absolutely everything. The feeling so strange as to feel what: I'm standing there being my usual self and in parallel there is an absolutely different "me" looking all around and being completely at odds with almost everything that can be "normal".... So it's kind of uncomfortable, yet funny at the same time (gee, here I go, sounding too weird again)...

So, when I wake up like this, fighting with my demons (or sitting around chatting with them, actually) one of my favourite therapies is to go to my little office, sit in front of my PC and spend several hours editing my photos. And that, as you can guess by looking at this post, is what I did today...

I called this post "Town in... Vertical" not because all the photos shared here are in that framing format. I called it that perhaps simply by coincidence or because I had nothing better in mind to title it. Although the more precise reason is because: today I woke up more "Bukowski" than ever and give a different name to this atypical profile work.

As I said, I did this editing job as therapy to try to balance my early moods so that my wife and other "normal" people around me wouldn't end up sending me to hell (which usually happens when I wake up with my character distorted)... This always works... I like to edit for hours, it's a bit like "painting" and the result is always something similar to what I'm thinking and feeling. Today, for example, the editing was soft, with slight contrasts and restrained lights. Also the photos were impersonal, almost all taken during the morning on cloudy days. In these photos "I am there almost unseen" so that calms me... I must say that it has helped me, because while I am writing this text, I am feeling less complex and more "everyday"... I hope that the rest of the day will be like that...

As is often the case with my black and white street photography work, this is my entry to today's #monomad challenge!

"The dog in the brake shop" and "Arriving in town in December" are just gorgeous!

I woke up more "Bukowski" than ever

Charles Bukowski, that writer? 😀 If so, that's tough for your wife and relatives 😁

Hello dear friend @x-rain !!!... Thank you very much for your appreciation and visit!

Yes "Bukowski", the one they called "writer", but in reality he was something like a rather crazy philosopher-poet with addictions 😁😁😁... But my mother (who is a retired professor and seems to have read everything that was written in the world) used to scold myself during my adolescence and early youth saying: "You look like a tormented Bukowski" when I got drunk and woke up in a bad mood...

In my defense, I have to say that more than 15 or 17 years ago I stopped drinking liquor and smoking (tobacco and other things 😁) and I have become a better person... But my "bipolarity" is still here making me the same "funny guy" as always for other people around! hahaha :))

Greetings and thanks again!

😁😁 I liked reading Bukowski when I was a youth although I didn't often drink (but when I drank, I used to get heavily drunk 😁). I actually preferred magic mushrooms so Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter Thompson was closer to me. 😁

Smoking cigarettes was a real addiction, real chain smoking, I hated it. Happily, I quit it several years ago.

"bipolarity"

A decent person must have this type of diagnosis. 😁 I am sure doctors have an explanation (in the form of a diagnosis) for my weirdness too.

😎

That mist is amazing. I never get the chance to capture such photos, but you always bring us some, so at least I'm enjoying your wonderful photos :)

"Wake up with yourself", it sounds very strange dear friend @jlinaresp
And it's odd to hear that you are seeing you doing something.
Anyway, wish you a nice day, dear friend.
