And today I wanted to edit in "SEPIA"... More precisely "see" my daily paths, but in sepia... And it must be said, when we turn a photo to sepia, we are turning it into something evocative, into something timeless, into something that awakens in our psyche that vintage taste that we tend to lose among the current and everyday ... Sometimes, sepia can even be "necessary" for those of us who love to take a photo and edit it...

Y hoy he querido editar en sepia... Más precisamente "ver" mis caminos cotidianos, pero en "SEPIA"... Y es que, hay que decirlo, cuando viramos una foto al sepia, la estamos convirtiendo en algo evocador, en algo atemporal, en algo que despierta en nuestra psiquis aquel gusto vintage que se nos suele perder entre lo actual y cotidiano... A veces, el sepia puede incluso "ser necesario" para quienes amamos hacer una foto y editarla...

I particularly prefer sepia with low contrast, lean, eloquent, that does not unnecessarily impress the eye of the observer... For me, sepia has to be faint, as if "floating" above the original identity of the image... That's why I usually select photos with a certain bucolic atmosphere and with few outstanding elements... I do this with the aim of achieving a calm image, which rather incites to contemplate nimble and even hidden details... That's what the roads are good for...

Prefiero particularmente el sepia con poco contraste, magro, elocuente, que no impresione innecesariamente el ojo del observador... Para mí, el sepia tiene que ser tenue, como si "flotara" por encima de la identidad original de la imagen... Por eso suelo seleccionar fotos con cierta atmósfera bucólica y con pocos elementos destacables... Lo hago con el objetivo de conseguir una imagen tranquila, que más bien incite a contemplar detalles nimios e incluso ocultos... Para eso sirven los caminos...

Small technical note: All the images were captured in RAW format and processed with Adobe Camera Raw, trying to "underexpose" the images to make them viable for a later sepia toning using PhotoScape... The subsequent procedure is frankly simple:

1. The Sepia conversion filter is used.
2. Adjust the contrast, depth and exposure.
3. Add vignettes at will.
4. Use the Sepia conversion filter again (This will eliminate the tonal variation generated by the vignettes).
5. Add a fade layer using yellow (43) at 3% (This achieves the vintage "reddish sepia" effect and at the same time reduces the contrast).
6. Brightness and shadow brushes are used as desired in various areas of the image.

And that's it... We will have an emotional sepia photo!...

Pequeña nota técnica: Todas las imágenes fueron capturadas en formato RAW y procesadas con Adobe Camera Raw, procurando "sub-exponer" las imágenes para hacerlas viables a un posterior virado al sepia usando PhotoScape... El procedimiento posterior es francamente simple:

1. Se usa el filtro de conversión a Sepia.
2. Se ajusta el contraste, la profundidad y exposición.
3. Se agregan viñetas a discreción.
4. Se vuelve a usar el filtro de conversión a Sepia (Esto eliminará la >variación de tonos generada por las viñetas).
5. Se agrega una capa de atenuación usando amarillo (43) al 3% (Esto logra el efecto de "sepia rojizo" vintage y al mismo tiempo aminora el contraste).
6. Se usan brochas de luminosidad y sombra según sea lo deseado en diversas áreas de la imagen.

¡Y eso es todo!... ¡Tendremos una emotiva foto en sepia!...
