THE WAY I SEE... "SURFACES"

tcats.jpg

Hello #Hive friends, today I invite you to share with me the way in which I observe part of what is around me in my streets... This time it is about "surfaces"... I hope you like this dozen of my visions full of time, textures, shapes, lights, details and abstraction...
Iron shedding skin

Certainly these photographs have a visual complexity that is a product of the way of looking at the streets and what is there. But beyond what is observed in each photo, there is also the "meaning" what I see can have for me... That is what the titles I give to my photos are for, to express my most intimate and personal perception of what is there... In a certain way "I am a little bit in each photo"...

T06.jpg
📷 06 - "John's epitaph on his door"

Mine is a dwindling town... Its houses are slowly dying, people are leaving and "father time" seems to do its thing wherever I look... That provides me with a lot of visual variables full of drama... I have pictures of this kind almost at every turn, I just have to keep my eyes sharp!...

T08.jpg

T09.jpg
📷 09 - "Unlocked!"

Rust, bricks, cracks, old paint, rocks, rubbish, loneliness, absence... There are a thousand words and things conspiring on the surfaces that bear witness to the passing of time in the streets of the village... I am fortunate enough to know how to find it and "steal" it with my camera... That's how it is, that's what I do...

SEE THE BLACK AND WHITE VERSIONS...

ucats.jpg

When you see these photos in black and white, the colours cease to exist and give way to an "assertion" of shapes and textures... I have learned to enjoy both versions of my photos... Perhaps the black and white versions make the viewer think a little more and have a psychic impact that comes more from within the observer than from the photo itself... I like that, but that doesn't mean I like looking at these in colour any less...

It's crazy, isn't it... All those shapes happening there!... There is an exquisite abstraction in the vision provided by this kind of photos... I like to go through the streets observing and suddenly being able to say to myself: There's one!... (Sometimes I do it out loud, then people look at me and some of them are puzzled).... But with the passing of time I have become part of the village's streetscape... So I go on without worrying...

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... The shots are then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.

Thank you very much for your visit and appreciation!
