I take photos in the streets because I go through them in a kind of "in-between consciousness" and for me this is like meditating and getting to know myself a little more each day through what I observe and "how I observe it".... I can write almost infinitely about how I use photography every day as a therapy... Analysing this well, it can be concluded that I make photographs in a somewhat egoistic way, because the main beneficiary of all this is "myself"... ;)

Hago fotos en las calles porque voy por ellas en una especie de "consciencia intermedia" y para mí esto es como ir meditando y conociéndome cada día un poco más a mi mismo a través de lo que observo y de "como lo observo"... Puedo escribir casi infinitamente respecto a como uso la fotografía a diario como terapia... Analizando esto bien, se puede concluir que hago fotografías de manera un poco egoísta, porque el principal beneficiando de todo esto soy "yo mismo"... ;)

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2007 if I remember correctly.... At that time my doctor told me (among other recommendations): "You must have something to do that is not only work"... A few days later I took a small compact camera (a small Olympus 5 MP and without manual modes) belonging to my wife and started taking pictures in the garden at home one Sunday morning... I remember it perfectly, it was "love at first sight" between me and taking pictures... Since then, photography has been part of my therapy and my daily life... This is a curious way to become a regular in photography, but that's how it started with me.

Fui diagnosticado con fibromialgia en 2007 sí mal no recuerdo... Aquella vez mi médico me dijo (entre otras recomendaciones): "Debes tener que algo para hacer que no sea trabajo"... A los pocos días tomé una pequeña cámara compacta (una pequeña Olympus de 5 MP y sin modos manuales) perteneciente a mi esposa y comencé a hacer fotos en el jardín de casa un domingo en la mañana... Lo recuerdo perfectamente, fue "amor a primera vista" entre esto de hacer fotos y yo... Desde entonces la fotografía forma partes de mi terapia y de mi vida diaria... Esta es una forma curiosa de hacerse asiduo a la fotografía, pero así fue como comenzó esto conmigo.

I have done many things to get ahead in spite of my condition... I changed my sedentary habits, I changed my diet, I even quit my job at the company where I worked as an IT manager... All this has resulted in "being much happier with myself"... My sons are grown up and emancipated, so I am at that stage where I manage my time at will... This is good and photography has been an integral part of this... I admit that, over the years, I have become "a bit of a strange guy" even for the people I am close to... But in reality I try to keep a balance and cause as little controversy as possible... Although from time to time it's a bit difficult not to cause at least some uncertainty, especially when it comes to close family members... But, well... That's the way it has to be, because I love the way I'm doing things!... That's why I said at the beginning that taking photos is a bit "selfish" on my part.... :)

He hecho muchas cosas para salir adelante a pesar de mi condición... Cambié mis hábitos sedentarios, cambié mi alimentación , incluso dejé mi trabajo en la empresa en donde laboraba como gerente de IT... Todo esto ha redundado en un "estar mucho más contento conmigo mismo"... Mis hijos han crecido y se han emancipado, por lo tanto estoy en esa etapa en la que gestiono mi tiempo a placer... Esto es bueno y la fotografía ha sido parte integral de todo esto... Reconozco que, con el paso de los años, me he transformado en "un tipo un poco extraño" inclusive para las personas que tengo cerca... Pero en realidad procuro mantener un balance y causar la menor controversia posible... Aunque de vez en cuando es un poco complicado no causar cuando menos algo de incertidumbre en especial cuando se trata de familiares cercanos... Pero, bien... ¡Esto tiene que ser así, pues a mi me encanta como voy haciendo las cosas!... Por eso dije al principio que esto de hacer fotos es un poco "egoísta" de mi parte... :)

_{ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
