I just had a handful of hours of delicious editing work in front of my PC thanks to these photographs I have to share with you today on #Hive... I had actually forgotten how wide the range of possibilities these types of photographs offer when processed. The dry season here, turns our natural environment into a planisphere replete with lights, shapes and visual drama in large quantities. Drought speaks of clear skies, of dusty roads reflecting light and revealing relief, of visible birds perched on defoliated trees, of hundreds of bare branches that turn thickets and forests into pictorial visions impossible to observe when the foliage is abundant and green... And when all this is combined with a monochromatic scheme, then there is a lot of magic happening!... I invite you to continue ahead in this post and enjoy this nature walk in the middle of the dry season... I know you will love to see it!...

Acabo de tener un puñado de horas de delicioso trabajo de edición en frente de mi PC gracias a estas fotografías que tengo para compartir con ustedes hoy en #Hive... En realidad había olvidado cuan amplia es la gama de posibilidades que ofrecen este tipo de fotografías al momento de ser procesadas. La temporada de sequía aquí, convierte nuestro entorno natural en un planisferio repleto de luces, formas y drama visual en grandes cantidades. La sequía habla de cielos limpios, de caminos polvorientos reflejando la luz y dejando ver el relieve, de aves visibles posadas en árboles desfoliados, de cientos de ramas desnudas que convierten los matorrales y bosques en visiones pictóricas imposibles de observar cuando el follaje es abundante y verde... ¡Y cuando todo esto se combina con un esquema monocromático, entonces hay un montón de magia ocurriendo!... Les invito a continuar adelante en esta publicación y disfrutar de este recorrido en la naturaleza en mitad de la estación seca... ¡Sé que amarán ver esto así!...

It's not an easy type of photo to take, I admit... I have to keep brightness in mind at all times and at the same time take risks with underexposures and overexposures more than I'm used to. My old Nikon D7000 still has a good dynamic range to exploit later when processing each image, this is especially true thanks to my invariable habit of shooting all my photos in RAW, but even so I must not abuse...

No es un tipo fotos fáciles de hacer, lo reconozco. Tengo que tener en todo momento la luminosidad en cuenta y al mismo tiempo arriesgar con sub-exposiciones y sobre-exposiciones más de lo acostumbrado. Mi vieja Nikon D7000 sigue teniendo un buen rango dinámico para explotar posteriormente al momento de procesar cada imagen, esto es especialmente cierto gracias a mi invariable costumbre de disparar todas mis fotos en RAW, pero aún así no debo abusar...

There are some relatively simple photographs, yes.... But simplicity is something that can easily be pushed aside in an environment like this and it becomes almost inevitable to get carried away by the abstraction and complexity of all that is in front of our eyes. So that's how I end up taking more complex photos in which I try to exploit and convey the visual richness and drama of my nearby nature affected by this weather condition. It is well worth enduring the high temperatures, breathing some dust and even returning home with some ticks attached to your ankles and other less noble parts of the body... 😉

Hay algunas fotografías relativamente simples, sí... Pero la simplicidad es algo que se puede hacer fácilmente a un lado en un entorno como este y resulta casi inevitable dejarse llevar por la abstracción y la complejidad de todo lo que se tiene ante los ojos. Entonces es así como termino haciendo fotos más complejas en las cuales procuro explotar y transmitir la riqueza visual y el drama de mi naturaleza cercana afectada por esta condición climática. Bien vale la pena soportar las altas temperaturas, respirar algo de polvo e incluso regresar a casa con algunas garrapatas pegadas e los tobillos y otras partes menos nobles del cuerpo... 😉

Good heavens, I love to look at these photos as they turn out after I process them in B&W... I also like to look at them in color, because I must admit that the chromatic palette of the drought itself is charming, but when I look at these photos in B&W I understand more their structure and I find them a level of eloquence really charming...

Santos cielos, amo mirar estas fotos como resultan después de que las proceso en B&W... También me gusta mirarlas en colores, pues hay que reconocer que la paleta cromática propio de la sequía es encantadora, pero cuando miro estas fotografías en B&W entiendo más su estructura y encuentro ellas un nivel de elocuencia realmente encantador...
