THAT JULY FOG - STREET PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES

The fog of July was not a fog accompanied by fresh air, nor by gentle breezes that caressed while giving dew. No, the fog in July brought with it a kind of stationary solitude which seemed to spill into the streets trying to slow down even more of the town. Its breath, its air, its mist, was rather a warm and dense thing, something sticky and full of moisture capable of producing that sweaty sensation of the early mornings full of saltpeter on the shore of some calm beach. Certainly, this fog of July had nothing to do with that of decades ago, when children going to school played at being immersed in cottons so cold they made them wear jackets. Now, and this is said by almost everyone in the town, and especially the oldest ones, the fog in July is hot, dense, emaciated, and stinks of new and past sadnesses...

Plunging into the streets with the fog of July was an act of defiance to thought, because the town is something else when it is like this, wrapped in this dense atmosphere that seems ready to highlight its cracks and shortcomings. Then each corner says something, or its simple silence says nothing but confesses it. And I write this like this, as if trying some kind of unruly and cunning poetry, because that is how I feel, see, and understand myself walking these streets which in the end, are a part of myself happening at my feet...

Cold fogs in July are well known here ... but also here in the Northern Hemisphere, in San Francisco, CA, warm fogs are slowly becoming a thing while, in my childhood, it might as well have been as much winter as in the Southern Hemisphere because of the cold for most of July. The world, and its weather on the Pacific Rim, is changing... what doesn't change except getting EVEN BETTER is your photography, and the dignity your eyes see in Montalban and its people even with the sadness...

Yes, the weather is getting crazier everywhere, my friend! It's like those sci-fi novels I used to read in my younger days! Thank you so much for stopping by, for commenting, and for appreciating my work!
