September left in my archives a ton of photos of this Montalbán, which I love to photograph so much... A simple town, but at the same time endowed with a multitude of everyday scenes that tell a lot when you look at them. Streets where dawn is almost always foggy, and where people don't seem to fully realize how iconic the sights there can be... And yes, of course, in addition to the people, my beloved dogs and the occasional stray cats are also everywhere. They often seem even more aware of that kind of "bucolic magic" the town streets possess in the early hours, when you don't know how high the sun is and time seems to run more slowly, or sometimes in circles... I invite you to look at this selection, this journey through my weeks spent wandering the streets in the mornings, while people, dogs, and even some cats simply "are there"...

Septiembre dejó en mis archivos un montón de fotos de ese Montalbán el cual tanto me gusta fotografiar... Un pueblo simple, pero al mismo tiempo dotado de un montón de escenas cotidianas que dicen muchas cosas al mirarlas. Unas calles cuyo amanecer casi siempre tiene neblinas y en donde las personas no parecen percatarse del todo cuan icónicas pueden ser las visiones allí... Y sí, por supuesto, además de las personas, también están por todas partes mis amados perros y ocasionales gatos callejeros. Ellos, con frecuencia, incluso parecen más conscientes de esa especie de "magia bucólica" que tienen las calles del pueblo en las horas tempranas cuando no se sabe a que altura está el sol y también el tiempo parece correr más despacio o veces, en círculos... Yo los invito a mirar entonces esta selección, este recorrido por mis semanas pasadas deambulando las calles en las mañanas, mientras las personas, los perros e incluso algunos gatos, simplemente "están allí"...

If this were the case, we might already be entering the dry season, bringing with them the arrival of the northern trade winds, which cool the town's valley a bit and even banish the foggy mornings. But the past few years have seen very erratic weather. This past month, we had rain and cloudy dawns. We're still waiting for clearer, windier days to arrive, but so far, none have happened... And all this helps me wake up almost every day, grab my camera, and slip a little furtively into the dense street atmosphere to take photos...

Según lo acostumbrado, debería ya estar dando comienzo a los meses de temporada seca y con ellos la llegada de los vientos alisios del norte, esos que refrescan un poco el valle del pueblo e incluso ahuyenta las mañanas de neblina. Pero los últimos años todo ha sido muy errático con respecto al clima. Así que este mes pasado tuvo lluvias y también amaneceres nublados. Estamos esperando aún por la llegada de días más despejados y con vientos, pero hasta ahora eso no ha ocurrido... Y todo esto me sirva a mi para poder despertar casi a diario, tomar mi cámara, y deslizarme un poco furtivo en medio de la densa atmósfera callejera para hacer fotos...

I have a couple of friends who take photographs in town too, but they only work at social events, products, businesses and the like... One of them stopped me one recent morning and jokingly said: "More and more people, especially younger ones, tell me that you've gone crazy and that you can be seen in the mornings talking to yourself or with dogs and cats while you take photos" 😂... I replied: "Please tell those who say these things to you that I'm harmless and that they can ask me to take their portrait when they see me out and about" 😉... And it's true, here in Montalbán people my age and older than me already see me as "part of the urban landscape" 😀. But it wasn't until my friend told me this that I became fully aware that the younger generations look at me with a certain strangeness... But they'll probably get over it, I hope!...

Tengo un par de amigos que hacen fotografías en el pueblo también, pero ellos trabajan únicamente haciendo fotos de eventos sociales, productos, negocios y cosas por el estilo... Hay uno de ellos que me detuvo una mañana reciente y me dijo en tono de broma: "Cada vez más gente, en especial los más jóvenes, me dice que tú haz enloquecido y que se te puede ver en las mañanas hablando solo o con perros y gatos mientras haces fotos" 😂... Yo le he contestado: "Por favor diles que soy inofensivo a quienes te digan esas cosas y que pueden pedir que les haga un retrato cuando me vean deambulando" 😉... Y es verdad, aquí en Montalbán las personas de mi edad y los mayores que yo, ya me ven como "parte del paisaje urbano" 😀. Pero no fue sino hasta que mi amigo me dijo esto, que estuve plenamente al consciente de que las nuevas generaciones me miran con cierta extrañeza... ¡Pero seguramente ya se les pasará, espero!...

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
