On those mornings when the fog does not descend enough to touch the streets of the town, but seems to be floating a few meters above the tangles of streetlight pole wires, a flat, uniform, white light comes from above and from everywhere, making the colors and shapes in the streets look more solid, more eloquent, or vehement I would say, and the streets unfold like a strange atlas, diaphanous and full of everydayness... These photos are from one of those mornings like the ones I describe here...

En esas mañanas en las que la niebla no desciende lo suficiente como para tocar las calles del pueblo, sino que parece estar flotando a unos pocos metros sobre las marañas de los cables de los postes de alumbrado público, una luz plana, uniforme y blanca viene de arriba y de todas partes, haciendo que los colores y las formas en las calles luzcan más sólidos, más elocuentes, o vehementes diría yo, y las calles se despliegan como un atlas extraño, diáfano y poblado de cotidianidad... Estas fotos son de una de esas mañanas como las que describo aquí...

Yes, definitely, I look at these photos and I understand that these are streets that can change according to the weather of the day. As if this town were some kind of a fabularium, where almost anything that happens seems to be destined to write small stories in its narrow streets... It is not a pretty town, but rather a town marked by decadence and wounded by years and years of crisis. But at the same time, all this generates a kind of visual complexity that makes it intricate, diverse, photographable I think...

Sí, definitivamente, observo estas fotos y entiendo que estas son calles que pueden cambiar al compás del clima del día. Como si este pueblo fuese una especie de fabulario, en donde casi cualquier cosa que ocurre pareciese estar destinada a escribir pequeñas historias en su calles escuetas... No es un pueblo bonito, más bien es un pueblo marcado por la decadencia y herido por años y años de crisis. Pero al mismo tiempo, todo esto genera un tipo de complejidad visual que lo hace intrincado, diverso, fotografiable creo...

The town pulsates from street to street in these mornings of indecisive fog... In some streets you can feel the taciturn and pasty laziness, surrounded by indecipherable sounds, as if the people there were confused, did not understand their watches and it was hard for them to wake up completely... But on the other hand, there are some streets in which the people, its inhabitants I mean, seem to defy the typical tedium of these cloudy mornings, and all this seems to change and vary from one street to another... That's how it is, which by the way is very good for wandering around taking pictures....

El pueblo pulsa de calle a calle en estas mañanas de nieblas indecisas... En algunas calles se siente la pereza taciturna y pastosa, rodeada de sonidos indescifrables, somo si las personas allí estuviesen confundidas, no entendiesen sus relojes y les costase despertar definitivamente... Pero por otra parte, hay algunas calles en las que el pueblo, sus habitantes digo, parecen desafiar el tedio típico de estas mañanas nubladas, y todo esto parece cambiar y variar de una calle a otra... Así es esto, lo cual por cierto es muy bueno para deambular haciendo fotos...

These are uncropped photos and all captured in horizontal rectangle format with 4:6 native proportions of the camera. The processing and editing of these photos has been meager, basic, elementary, I have tried to barely make evolutions of brightness and contrast to highlight as much as possible the effect of the omnipresent white light coming from that ceiling of low fogs that invade the valley of the town as if not daring to embrace it completely. So these photographs with practically a frank and realistic vision of how I see my streets here in Montalbán during a morning with this kind of weather...

Estas son fotos sin recortar y todas capturadas en formato rectángulo horizontal de proporciones 4:6 nativo de la cámara. El procesado y la edición es estas fotos ha sido magro, básico, elemental, he procurado apenas hacer evoluciones de luminosidad y contraste para resaltar en lo posible el efecto de la omnipresente luz blanca proveniente de ese techo de nieblas bajas que invaden el valle del pueblo como no atreviéndose a abrazarlo por completo. Así que estas fotografías con prácticamente una visión franca y realista de como yo veo mis calles aquí en Montalbán durante una mañana con esta tipo de clima...
