Lights, shadows and contrasts have the quality of explaining to us without words the true nature of everything that surrounds us. If everything were shadows, there would be nothing... If everything were light, there would be nothing in front of our eyes either... I like to understand the material world as an eternal dance of opposites conspiring with each other in order to create things for the pure pleasure of creating them. This perception, this idea, let's say a bit strange, has as a consequence an endless descent (or ascent, perhaps?) to thoughts that aim to understand what I observe in an increasingly more and more equanimous way, covered with a certain indifference, which sometimes, is often misinterpreted by those around me...

Las luces, las sombras y los contrastes poseen la cualidad de explicarnos sin palabras la naturaleza misma de todo cuanto nos rodea. Si todo fuese sombras, no hubiese nada... Si todo fuese luz, tampoco hubiese nada ante nuestros ojos... Me gusta entender el mundo material como una eterna danza de opuestos conspirando entre ellos con la finalidad de crear cosas por el puro placer de crearlas. Esta percepción, esta idea, digamos un tanto extraña, tiene como consecuencia un interminable descenso (¿o ascenso, acaso?) a pensamientos que apuntan a entender lo que observo de una manera cada vez más y más ecuánime, revestida con una cierta indiferencia, la cual a veces, suele ser mal interpretada por quienes me rodean...

Having reached this point of perceiving reality as projected on a huge screen which I would like to call “consciousness”, I have also adopted the “healthy habit” of neither assuring nor defending to the hilt that what I think is real. After all, to persist in the defense of my beliefs and thoughts is, I think, also part of that “universe of opposites creating things”... If everything I think is not true, then it is not worth defending... And if it turns out to be true, then it is something that will defend itself... I see no cracks in this, at least not so far...

Habiendo llegado a esto de percibir la realidad como proyectada sobre una enorme pantalla a la cual me gustaría llamar "consciencia", también llegué a adoptar la "sana costumbre" no asegurar ni defender a capa y espada que lo que pienso sea real. Pues, empecinarme en la defensa de mis creencias y pensamientos es, después de todo, también parte de ese "universo de opuestos creando cosas"... Si todo cuanto pienso no es cierto, entonces no vale la pena defenderlo... Y si resultase ser cierto, entonces es algo que se defenderá por si mismo... No veo grietas en esto, cuando menos no hasta ahora...

There is a certain peace in believing things the way I believe them, as the very perception of reality as ephemeral and relative, leads me to not want to make others believe as I do... In fact, it seems to me that the world would become too slow, parsimonious or dispassionate, if too many people chose to look at reality as I do... So, I only speak sometimes, but I don't like to advise this to anyone, for something we are individuals and then it is good to think honoring such individuality, therein lies the healthy and convenient respect for others, it seems to me... Besides, knowing myself as I know myself, I can wake up tomorrow thinking in a totally different way than I do today, I'm sure of that... ;)

Hay cierta paz en creer cosas de la manera como yo las creo, pues la misma percepción de la realidad como efímera y relativa, me lleva a no querer hacer que otros crean como yo... En realidad, me parece que el mundo se tornaría demasiado lento, parsimonioso o desapasionado, si demasiadas personas optaran por mirar la realidad como yo la miro... Entonces, solo hablo a veces, pero no me gusta aconsejar esto a nadie, por algo somos individuos y entonces es bueno pensar haciendo honor a dicha individualidad, allí reside el respeto sano y conveniente por otros, me parece... Además, conociéndome como me conozco, puedo despertar mañana pensando de manera totalmente distinta a como pienso hoy, estoy seguro de eso... ;)

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.}
