These streets of mine, these streets of my town; they have their rituals, their codes, and even their spells. Sometimes it's necessary to go thinking precisely "about nothing" for a friend to appear... Other times, the streets demand a sacrifice of slowness, observation, and even laziness; then it's opportune to stop, to make one's breathing more measured and one's gaze more random; then a dog, a cat, or some curious pigeon will surely appear... These streets, these streets of mine, I say, demand their share of incoherence, ingenuity, and the typical delirium of one who consciously decides to lose one's mind in a cautious and measured manner, as if to rid oneself of one's memories, as if to leave one's history behind and then, unburdened and freed from all this; to find oneself in a brand-new reality...

Estas calles mías, estas calles de mi pueblo; tienen sus rituales, sus códigos y hasta sus hechizos Algunas veces es necesario ir pensando justamente "en nada" para que aparezca un amigo... Otras veces, las calle exige un sacrificio de lentitud, observación e incluso flojera; entonces es propicio detenerse, hacer las respiración más pausada y la mirada más aleatoria; así seguramente aparezca un perro, un gato o algún pichón curioso... Estas calles, estas calles mías digo, exigen su cuota de incoherencia, ingenio y el delirio típico de aquel que a conciencia decide perder la razón de manera cauta y comedida, como para deshacerse de sus memorias, como para dejar atrás su historia y entonces, descargado y librado de todo esto; encontrarse a si mismo en realidad novísima...

There are also specific spells for these streets; for these streets of mine, I mean; like remembering and imagining my teenage girlfriend walking down her old street; then it's usual for white roses to appear, the same ones I used to bring her when I visited her in the evenings, or when I used to serenade her in the early mornings forty years ago... And if one, as if struck by a sudden madness, chooses to shout profanities out loud; then it's certain that some old car will cross a silent street or even appear parked on the roadway as if by magic... And no, I haven't gone mad, at least not more than usual; it's just, I mean "it's about" that today I wanted to write like this and play with some of the oddities of my thoughts; those that sometimes float and sometimes crawl...

También hay conjuros específicos para estas calles; para estas calles mías digo; como recordar e imaginar a mi novia de la adolescencia caminando por su antigua calle; entonces es usual que aparezcan rosas blancas, las mismas que yo le llevaba cuando la visitaba en las tardes o le cantaba canciones de serenata en las madrugadas de hace cuarenta años... Y si uno, como atacado por una súbita locura, opta por gritar groserías en voz alta; entonces es seguro que algún auto viejo cruzará una calle silente o incluso aparecerá parqueado en la calzada como por magia... Y no, no he enloquecido, cuando menos no más de lo acostumbrado; es solo, quiero decir "se trata" de que hoy quise escribir así y jugar con algunas rarezas de mis pensamientos; esos que a veces flotan y a veces se arrastran...
