My town has some mornings when it's easy to forget what year it is, just walking through the streets. I'm talking about that kind of "conspiracy" of things and events appearing and happening. I don't know if this only happens to me, because everyone seems pretty indifferent to this feeling of time being frozen or even turned back. In fact, on mornings like that, people's conversations here revolve around the weather and other more trivial things. But I still haven't found anyone who stops me on the street and says something like, "It feels like 1960 in this town today"...

Mi pueblo tiene algunas mañanas en las cuales es fácil olvidar incluso en que año estamos, cuando se va por las calles caminado. Me refiero a esa especie de "conspiración" de cosas y hechos apareciendo y ocurriendo. No sé si esto solo me ocurra a mí, pues vea a caso todos bastante indiferentes ante esa especie de sensación de tiempo congelado o incluso ido hacia atrás. De hecho, en mañanas así, los comentarios de las personas aquí se refieren y giran en torno al clima y otras cosas más triviales. Pero sigo sin encontrarme alguien que se detenga en una calle y me diga alguna cosa un poco como "parece que es 1960 en este pueblo hoy"...

Of course, my mind is an active and prolific storyteller, and these photos I take have a lot to do with what I'm constantly thinking, imagining, and understanding. So my feeling of being immersed in a bubble where time behaves strangely is perhaps a direct consequence of my way of immersing myself in and thinking about my surroundings...

Claro, mi cabeza es un fabulario activo y prolífico, y estas fotos que hago tienen mucho que ver con lo que pienso, imagino y entiendo constantemente. Así que mi sensación de estar inmerso en una burbuja en donde el tiempo se comporta de manera extraña; es entonces quizás una consecuencia directa de esa manera mía de sumergirme y pensar mi entorno...

For me, many things disappear in these streets, beginning with my perception of myself as just another inhabitant of this town. It's common for me to feel like a mere witness, floating among streets whose time I don't know. That's why I observe; that's why "the same streets" can transform for me into something new minute by minute. Then I capture all of this and store it in my camera, which is nothing more than a simple device that records my vision as an "outside witness"...

Para mi, en estas calles desaparecen muchas cosas, comenzando por mi percepción de mi mismo como un habitante más de este pueblo. Entonces es frecuente que me sienta como un simple testigo flotando entre calles cuyo tiempo desconozco. Por eso observo, por eso "las mismas calles" pueden transformarse para mi en algo nuevo minuto a minuto, entonces robo todo esto y lo guardo en mí cámara, que no es más que un simple dispositivo que plasma mi visión de "testigo ajeno"...
