Today I went out early to make a couple of deliveries to a bakery and a small grocery kiosk. But, as I almost always do, I carried my camera around my neck and, after accomplishing my morning commitments, I returned home meandering through the streets of my town, sometimes straying even from what would be a more direct route. So I was looking at street scenes and taking pictures for an hour and a half until the moment when a light rain made me hurry back home...

Hoy salí temprano para hacer un par de entregas en una panadería y un pequeño quiosco de víveres. Pero, como suelo hacer casi siempre, llevé mi cámara colgando de mi cuello y, después de cumplir con mis compromisos de la mañana, retorné a casa serpenteando entre las calles de mi pueblo, algunas veces alejándome incluso de lo que sería una ruta más directa. Así estuve mirando escenas callejeras y haciendo fotografías durante hora y media hasta el momento en el que una ligera lluvia me hizo regresar apresuradamente a mi casa...

The town, its streets I mean, were awake and already recovered from the lethargy caused by yesterday afternoon's torrential downpours, which continued late into the night... I had fortunately attached my old 18-200mm zoom lens to my camera, and while this is a bit of a difficult lens to use in overcast conditions like today, I was able to take full advantage of its wide focal range, which allowed me to take photos of a diverse character... It was enough for me to keep the camera settings at ISO 1000 and apertures from f/7.1 to f/5.6 all the way through to take most of these photos. So I was able to have quite a bit of fun creating framing without worrying too much about settings. My old camera and I have been together since 2012 as I recall. So today we are: “a couple of grumpy geezers who know each other very well and do the best we can to have a good time” 😂📷

El pueblo, sus calles quiero decir, estaban despiertas y ya recuperadas del letargo causado por los aguaceros torrenciales de ayer por la tarde, los cuales se repitieron hasta bien entrada la noche... Yo afortunadamente había puesto en mi cámara mi viejo lente zoom con rango 18-200mm y, si bien este es un objetivo un poco difícil de usar en condiciones de cielos nublados como hoy, pude sacar mucho provecho de su amplio rango focal, lo cual me permitió hacer muchas fotografías de carácter diverso... Me bastó mantener los ajustes de la cámara en ISO 1000 y aperturas de f/7.1 a f/5.6 durante todo el trayecto para hacer la mayoría de estas fotos. Así que pude divertirme bastante creando encuadres sin preocuparme demasiado por ajustes. Mi vieja cámara yo estamos juntos desde 2012 según recuerdo. Así que hoy por hoy somos: "un par de viejos achacosos quienes nos conocemos muy bien uno al otro y hacemos lo mejor que podemos para pasarla bien" 😂📷

Yes, I'm becoming old, I think... I'm really enjoying walking through my streets, taking pictures and just stopping to talk to people anywhere and about anything unimportant... Every day I need less and less things to have a good time and every day I feel more and more inclined to “just look around” without proposing to change anything, much less to question anything... It's a pity that my temper is so changeable, I would like to be like this, just as I woke up today, ready to do a couple of little things to earn some money, then wander a bit in the streets and go back home to do the things I like to do without worrying too much about other things... But I know myself very well, I can change from one moment to the next and wake up tomorrow being very different... But this has always been this way, it's nothing new, I know how to deal with it... 😉👍

Sí, me estoy haciendo viejo me parece... Me está gustando mucho pasear por mis calles, hacer fotos y detenerme simplemente a hablar con las personas en cualquier lugar y respecto a cosa sin importancia... Cada día necesito menos cosas para pasarla bien y cada día me siento más inclinado a "simplemente mirar alrededor" sin proponerme cambiar nada ni mucho menos cuestionar algo... Es una lástima el que mi carácter sea tan cambiante, me gustaría estar así, tal como me desperté hoy, dispuesto a hacer un par de pequeñas cosas para ganar algún dinero, luego deambular un poco por las calles y regresar a casa a hacer las cosas que me gusta hacer sin preocuparme demasiado por otras cosas... Pero me conozco muy bien, puedo cambiar de un momento a otro y despertar mañana siendo muy distinto... Pero esto siempre ha sido así, no es nada nuevo, sé como lidiar con esto... 😉👍
