More than just streets, this framework, this labyrinth, this grid with its straight lines plagued by cracks, moisture, and glances, is also the place where my memories make fables grow inside me daily...

Más que simples calles, este entramado, este laberinto, esta cuadrícula con sus líneas rectas plagadas de grietas, de humedades y de miradas, es también el lugar en donde mis memorias me hacen crecer fábulas a diario...

Perhaps I am a sort of irrecoverable lunatic, cheerfully trapped in this handful of compressed blocks, imagining daily things that only he can see, diving into brief stories which only he hears whispered in the morning air embraced by that incomprehensible fog... I don't know, but I like this, and every time I judge myself for this obsession, a phrase comes to mind that I once said to someone, or that perhaps I have said more than once —I don't know, my memory always fails when it comes to my obsessions—, but it is something like: "If I hadn't been born and lived in this town, I would have moved to it just to photograph its streets"... And the thing is, there is something between these coordinates full of shortcomings and dramas that communes with my breathing and my gaze... I know it...

Quizás soy una especie de orate irrecuperable, alegremente atrapado en este puñado de cuadras comprimidas, imaginando a diario cosas que solo él puede ver, sumergiéndose en breves historias las cuales únicamente él escucha susurradas en el aire de las mañanas abrazadas por esa niebla incomprensible... No sé, pero a mí me gusta esto, y cada vez que me juzgo a mí mismo por esta obsesión me viene a la mente una frase que dije una vez a alguien, o que quizás he dicho más de una vez —no lo sé, mi memoria siempre falla cuando se trata de mis obsesiones—, pero es algo como: "Si no hubiese nacido y vivido en este pueblo, me hubiese mudado a él tan solo para fotografiar sus calles"... Y es que hay algo entre estas coordenadas repletas de carencias y dramas que comulga con mi respiración y mi mirada... Lo sé...

And I don't get tired, because every day these streets mutate and tell me new things, even though I know every one of their spaces, their smells, their joys and sorrows, every gaze of those who do not cease to look at me with certain curiosity and some anxiety, every dog, every cat; everything, I know almost everything, and even so, with every shot of my camera, I find a complex, novel, and even strange breviary, which I hadn't read before... And —as you can observe— it even gifts me some poetry, because when I write, it is also those streets happening in my lines...

Y no me canso, porque cada día estas calles mutan y me dicen cosas nuevas, aunque conozco cada uno de sus espacios, de sus olores, de sus alegrías y tristezas, cada mirada de quienes no cesan de verme con cierta curiosidad y alguna angustia, cada perro, cada gato; todo, lo conozco casi todo, y aun así, con cada disparo de mi cámara, me encuentro un breviario complejo, novel e incluso raro, el cual no había leído antes... Y —como pueden observar— hasta algo de poesía me regala, porque cuando escribo también son esas calles ocurriendo en mis líneas...
