"MERGERS" - Another way in street photograhy

This publication is my attempt to expose and share with you some of the "uncommon" things I usually do with my street photographs... I have in my disks hundreds of photographs edited in an unorthodox way, I also have photographs cropped in a strange way and others digitally altered until they become something absolutely different from what they were originally... Many of these works remain there on my discs, with no one but me to see them, but I'm trying to change that by trying to share them on #Hive regularly...

I am posting the source photos for the fusions here in this post as well. I think that doing this, aside from the fact that you may enjoy those photos as well, provides a clear idea of the intent behind each fusion and what I want to express in it.

The motifs are as varied as street photography is varied. However, for this particular work I have chosen to combine photographs with some common features between them. But this is not a fixed rule that I apply, because in my albums I have lots of dissimilar photos combined in the craziest combinations you can imagine.

Regarding: "How to do this" I have to confess that it is something as anarchic as those same photos mixed together. But in general terms I can say that I start by editing the RAW color versions of the two photos with which I want to merge. After being happy with the results I export them to JPG and start the blending process which can be done in Photoshop or Photscape indifferently. The truth is that I always choose a "base photo" and leave the other photo to overlay as a layer with transparency level at my discretion. At this stage of the process I can do strange things like rotate (mirror) the photos, modify their relative sizes and so on... Then I export everything to a new JPG on which I make a lot of adjustments ranging from vignettes, contrasts, depth, straightening and anything that helps me to achieve the result I want to see.

The fact that the merged versions of these photos are edited in monochrome is something which can also vary according to my perception of them. But this time I've decided to turn the merged versions to that kind of "old black and white" which I really like and which I find provides more leeway to take advantage of vignettes, underexposures, some grain and thus the always desired and charming "drama" which I like a lot to use in my street photography works.

As you can see, it is a relatively simple digital assembly and editing job. But on the other hand it is something I enjoy and it also gives me the possibility to add an expressive "plus" to my vision of street photography. I sincerely hope you liked these photos and their variants edited, I'm turning ideas in my head to create future publications similar to these, I hope I can do it soon... ;)

Thank you very much for your visit and appreciation!

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape 3.6.3.

Mil gracias por tu constante aprecio y apoyo... Saludos y bendiciones a todos por allá ;)
