Hello #Hive friends!!!.... Bishop's Water is the name of a valley south of the town, a little more than a couple of kilometers from the urban limits... It is a rural place, full of farms and small cultivated lands where you can also see cows, birds, horses and goats... But its most charming feature (at least for me, who likes to take pictures every day) is that the fog usually remains there much longer than in the village... So walking along its paths in the fog, is something delightful and is something I call "my daily exorcism" because doing this is something that easily takes away the worries and provides encouragement for the rest of the day...

Hola amigos de #Hive!... Agua de Obispo es el nombre de un valle al sur del pueblo, dista poco más de un par de kilómetros desde los limites urbanos... Es un lugar rural, repleto de fincas y pequeños terrenos cultivables en donde se pueden ver también vacas, aves, caballos y cabras... Pero su característica más encantadora (cuando menos para mi, que gusto de hacer fotos diariamente) es que allí la niebla suele permanecer mucho más tiempo que en el pueblo... Entonces caminar por sus caminos entre la niebla, es algo delicioso y es algo que yo llamo "mi exorcismo cotidiano" pues hacer esto suele alejar fácilmente las preocupaciones y brinda ánimos para el resto del día...

Let's start with this beautiful view from a hill to the "Bishop's Water" valley... That charming area where the mist penetrates the valley is one of my favorite places to walk in the mornings...

Comencemos con esta hermosa vista desde una colina hacia el valle de Agua de Obispo... Esa encantadora área en donde la niebla penetra en el valle, es uno de mis lugares preferidos para caminar en las mañanas...

Reading the previous couple of paragraphs, I was delighted with how "poetic" some of my lines were... So it's good to remember that I started taking pictures at the suggestion of a psychologist almost a couple of decades ago... And it was all due to my particular tendency to vent my fury in the corridors and offices of the company where I worked (and believe me, they were beautiful spectacles)... So when I go for a walk and say that for me it's an "exorcism" then maybe it's not just something "poetic"...

Leyendo el par de párrafos previos, quedo encantado con lo "poéticas" que son algunas de mis lineas... Así que es bueno recordar que comencé a hacer fotografías por sugerencia de un psicólogo hace casi un par de décadas atrás... Y todo se debió a mi particular tendencia a descargar mi furia en los pasillos y oficinas de la empresa en donde trabajaba (y créanme, eran lindos espectáculos)... Así que cuando salgo a caminar y digo que para mi es un "exorcismo" entonces quizás no se trate de algo solamente "poético"...

The views here are simply enchanting, I always carry a fairly bright lens, as the fog can often be very dense and it is desirable to avoid using ISO's that are too high.... These photos were taken with a Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8d FX lens.

Las vistas aquí son simplemente encantadoras, siempre suelo llevar algún objetivo bastante luminoso, pues con frecuencia la niebla puede ser muy densa y es deseable evitar el uso de ISO's demasiado altos... Estas fotos las hice con un lente Nikon AF Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8d FX.

I still have vestiges of my bad temper, so these long walks doing photography are still a kind of therapy and I take them very seriously.... But from time to time weird things happen to me, like meeting someone who asks me: "Jesus, why do you always pass by here taking pictures, don't you get tired of it?"... And through my mind go charming answers like: "And why the fuck do you walk behind a cow's ass every day without appreciating the beauty around you?... But before committing such a barbarity I prefer to keep quiet or provide a more subtle answer like: "I usually hear voices in my mind, in unknown languages, and going out to take pictures makes that not happen"...

Aún tengo vestigios de mi mal carácter, así que estas largas caminatas haciendo fotografía siguen siendo una especie de terapia y me las tomo muy en serio... Pero de vez en cuando me pasan cosas como encontrarme a alguien que me pregunta: "Jesús, porque siempre pasas por aquí tomando fotos, no te cansas de eso"... Y por mi mente pasan encantadoras respuestas como: ¿Y vos porque carajos caminas detrás del culo de una vaca diariamente sin apreciar la belleza que hay alrededor?... Pero antes de cometer tal barbaridad prefiero callar o proveer una respuesta mas sutil como "Es que suelo escuchar voces en mi mente, en idiomas desconocidos y salir a tomar fotos hace que eso no suceda"...

Anyway, at this point in my life, I need to do this kind of thing as much as I can, because photography and periods of reflection are things that have changed me, and for the better.... Weird, isn't it.... Because I've heard people who have improved their behavior with more conventional methods like behavioral therapy, controlled medication and a couple of assault lawsuits.... So I'm lucky that taking pictures has helped me!...

De la manera que sea, a estas alturas de mi vida, necesito hacer este tipo de cosas tanto como pueda, pues la fotografía y los períodos de reflexión son cosas que me han cambiado y para bien... ¿Raro, no?... Porque he escuchado personas que han mejorado su comportamiento con métodos más convencionales como la terapia de conducta, medicación controlada y un par de demandas por agresión... ¡Así que tengo suerte de que me haya servido tomar fotos!...
