South of Montalbán (Venezuela), the town where I've always lived, there's a narrow, old paved road that's almost straight for its entire length of almost six kilometers. In fact, it only has half a dozen slight curves, and some of its straight stretches are over a thousand meters long. It's also practically flat throughout, crossing the valley from the town center to connect with the Pan-American Highway, without encountering any elevations...

Al sur de Montalbán (Venezuela), el pueblo en donde vivo desde siempre, existe una angosta y vieja carretera asfaltada la cual es casi recta en la totalidad de sus casi seis kilómetros de longitud; de hecho, solo tiene media docena de curvas leves y algunos de sus tramos rectos sobrepasan los mil metros; también es prácticamente plana en su totalidad, ya que atraviesa la superficie del valle desde el casco urbano del pueblo hasta conectar con la carretera panamericana, sin toparse con elevaciones del terreno...

This road is bordered on both sides by plantations, pastures, and some livestock farms, as well as another poultry farm. Many of these properties are productive, while others are isolated, unused, or abandoned by their owners. To the east and west, these lands can be seen, and in the background, there are higher hills and mountains. So, the landscape along the entire road is something worthy of photographing. In addition, there are always rural scenes that also make for interesting photos.

Esta carretera está rodeada de lado y lado por plantaciones, pastizales y algunas granjas ganaderas y otra de cría de aves. Muchas de estas propiedades se encuentran productivas y otras están solitarias, en desuso o abandonadas por sus dueños... Al este y al oeste se aprecian estos terrenos y al fondo hay colinas y montañas más altas. Así que el paisaje a lo largo de toda la carretera, es algo dingo de ser fotografiado. Además, siempre hay escenas rurales las cuales también son buenas para hacer fotos interesantes...

I like to come and ride this road on my old bicycle. Its flat terrain, long straight stretches, and very little traffic make it an ideal route for gentle exercise, relaxation, and breathing plenty of fresh, clean air. Until the end of the 20th century, when the municipality's economic boom was at its peak, this road was heavily traveled by freight vehicles, especially. But today, you can only see a few people traveling to farms on motorcycles and a few cars, as well as the occasional truck carrying or transporting livestock, and a few people on bicycles like myself. But generally, it's a fairly lonely road...

Me gusta venir y recorrer esta carretera en mi vieja bicicleta. Su relieve plano, las largas rectas y el escaso tráfico automotor, hacen que este sea un camino ideal para ejercitarme de manera suave, relajarme y respirar un montón de aire puro y fresco. Hasta finales del siglo XX, cuando el auge económico del municipio está en lo más alto, esta vía era muy transitada por vehículos de carga especialmente. Pero hoy por hoy, solo se pueden ver algunas personas yendo a las granjas en motocicleta y pocos autos, también algún camión llevando o trayendo ganado y algunas personas en bicicleta como yo. Pero generalmente, es una carretera bastante solitaria...

We're at the end of the rainy season, and there are still plenty of green pastures and vegetation in general, with plenty of foliage. But there are already some ochre and yellow tones in some places, so it's perhaps the ideal time to take photographs with more interesting polychromy. Furthermore, the morning I took this route, the sky was partly cloudy and the light was highly variable. This allowed me to photograph a wide range of landscapes and more specific details of the road and the surrounding properties.

Estamos al final de la temporada de luvias y aún hay muchos pastizales verdes y vegetación en general con bastante follaje. Pero ya hay algunos tonos ocres y amarillos en algunos lugares, así que es quizás el momento ideal para hacer fotografías con policromía más interesante... Además, la mañana en la que hice este recorrido, el cielo estaba parcialmente nublado y la luminosidad era muy variable, esto me permitió tener a mi disponibilidad un abanico de posibilidades para fotografiar desde paisajes hasta detalles más puntuales de la carretera y las propiedades que la circundan...

There are also narrow secondary dirt roads that connect laterally with this highway. These roads serve to reach other properties far from the main road or even lead to small, remote hamlets. But generally, when I come to take this route, I stick to the long, straight stretches, enjoying the beauty of the surrounding landscape... Perhaps one day soon, I'll venture out onto those secondary roads and share my discoveries with you here on #Hive...

También hay angostos caminos de tierra secundarios los cuales conectan lateralmente con esta carretera. Son caminos que sirven para llegar otras propiedades alejadas de los márgenes de la carretera principal o incluso van a dar a pequeños caseríos alejados. Pero por lo general, cuando vengo a hacer este recorrido, me mantengo transitando en las largas rectas disfrutando las bondades del paisaje alrededor... Quizás algún día en el corto plazo, me aventura a recorrer esos caminos secundarios y comparta mis hallazgos de allí con ustedes aquí en #Hive...
