INSIGHTS! - MONOMAD - STREET PHOTOGRAPHY || ENG-ESP || (10 pics)

cats.jpg

I walk through the streets, observing; people here recognize me and know I'm taking photographs. Many are very humble people, and I've known them forever... Many know that I might take a photo if they don't pose (over time, they've realized that I very rarely take photos of people posing), so when they see me, they simply talk, gesture, and behave as if it were just a normal conversation, and... CLICK!... I take a photo, and they know I've taken it, and then they smile out loud!... They and I like that "pleasant space" that is usually created when I meet them. In a place that is often depressing like this one, those small joys, charged with humanity, become very valuable to all of us...

Here everything has a bias of the need to observe, sometimes of the need to rejoice; anything that serves to move forward without thinking about the difficulties, which are many, is a good thing... And Paul watches some cats that arrive on his street while smoking a cigarette... A new stray dog, a rather skinny one, appears in a poor neighborhood and someone has already thrown it something to eat... The old post office stopped working years ago, but its two tall, aged doors continue to look beautiful... An old man whom everyone calls "The Comrade" returns from the grocery store with a bottle of fresh milk and walks happily... And Angelina is a craftswoman, and even her windows become something beautiful to look at, they even match the angles of the broken streets...

And three dogs, absolutely different from each other, give me a charming photo on a street I pass by every day... Even the simplicity of a broken parking light on an old truck transforms into a street photo when I look at it closely... Not to mention the smug pigeon that seems to be looking sideways at an old sign pierced by gunfire in a not-so-safe neighborhood... "Sanchez," whose first name I forgot years ago, finally appears in one of my photos because he hadn't done so until now (and he only lives three blocks from my house)... Yolanda, the one who sold cosmetics to my grandmother 50 years ago, as I recall; walks down the street under the relentless midday sun, not caring about the heat, neither for her nor for her 80+ years... Yes, here everything has a story behind it for me and everything happens smoothly while I watch...

Hi Jesus ,
you shared some nice Photos again , what i wonder is that i never see a police station or fire department or an ambulance in your photos , are you not allowed to take photos of those or are they simply not there .

Congratulations on Venezuela winning Nobel price for peace by Maria Corina Machado !

Hello @stresskiller friend 😀👋, first of all, thank you very much for your support and for your congratulations on the Nobel Prize to MCM, we have woken up with that joy for many here today!!! 🙏 ... Regarding photographing those types of public dependencies that you mention; there is no prohibition that I know of to photograph, but years ago I had a bad experience with a couple of young police cadets (they were not from the town, they were completing their training phase here) on a street, who saw me taking street photos and decided to stop me and confiscate my camera 😒... Fortunately, the chief of the police station saw me arriving with the kids recognized me and immediately yelled at them: Damn! ... What are you doing, are you crazy? ... That is the guy who takes photos of every town! 😁 and then the cadets apologized and returned my camera... But since then I avoid taking photos of anything related to public entities; The rules regarding civil rights are not very well defined here, and it's best to avoid these types of incidents as much as possible 🤷‍♂...

Thanks again for this comment dear friend!
