In recent days, I've been taking rides on my old bicycle along the rural roads around the village. As usual, I went for these rides very early in the morning, and on some of them, fog blanketed the valley, transforming what might otherwise be ordinary views into complex and enigmatic scenes. These photos are a selection from the many I took during those days, and although I've already shared some photos from those rides in color, this time I wanted to convert the ones I processed for this post to a monochromatic scheme. These photos, in particular, are ones whose character seemed well-suited to stripping away the colors and using compositional elements, along with light, contrast, and depth, to reveal what was there and what I was observing at that moment. In other words, these photos in this post were, in a way, taken "thinking of black and white," something I learned to do a long time ago, and something I still love to do when I go out to take photos.

En días pasados estuve haciendo paseos en mi vieja bicicleta recorriendo los caminos rurales alrededor del pueblo. Como de costumbre, hice estos paseos en horas muy tempranas de la mañana y en algunos de ellos la niebla estuvo presente en el valle, convirtiendo como siempre cuando ella está, las visiones que podría ser más comunes, en escenas complejas y enigmáticas. Entonces, estas fotos son una selección de entre muchas que tomé estos días pasados, y aunque ya había compartido algunas fotos de esos paseos pero a color; esta vez quise virar las que procesé para este post a un esquema monocromático. Y estas específicamente, son fotos cuyo carácter me pareció adecuado para quitarles el colores y usar los elementos compositivos, además de luces, contrastes y profundidad, para hacer ver lo que había allí y yo me encontraba observando en ese momento. Es decir, estas fotos en este post, de alguna manera las hice "pensando para blanco y negro" y eso es algo lo cual aprendí a hacer hace mucho tiempo ya, y también algo que amo seguir haciendo cuando salgo a hacer fotos...

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
