We are in the middle of May and already some heavy downpours have wet the soil and greened the foliage of the plants and also some mornings are often accompanied by fog... This is something that, as you already know, fascinates me and makes me go out immediately to take photographs in the surroundings of my village.

Estamos en en pleno mes de Mayo y ya algunos fuertes aguaceros han mojado la tierra y reverdecido el follaje de las plantas y también algunas mañanas suelen estar acompañadas de niebla... Eso es algo que, como ustedes ya saben, me fascina y me hace salir de inmediato a hacer fotografías en los alrededores de mi pueblo.

I was tempted this morning to take the pictures in the streets, but then I decided to walk towards the edge of the village and down the paths that lead to the small river to the west and then to the hills... That is a route I frequent with the intention of exercising, breathing fresh air and of course taking photographs.

Estuve tentado esta mañana a hacer las fotografías en las calles, pero después decidí caminar en dirección al borde del pueblo y bajar por los senderos que conducen al pequeño río al Oeste y después a las colinas... Esa es una ruta la cual frecuento con la intención de hacer ejercicio, respirar aire puro y por supuesto hacer fotografías.

The fog in May is usually less thick than in the following months (the thickest fog is usually between August and December) so it allows a few spells of sunshine to pass through here and there, it can also suddenly become clear at some point and then, in a few minutes, be covered with fog again.

The roads are something so attractive and so eloquent that it is difficult to stop photographing them, but you have to make the effort and look around, because the fog is something that turns a relatively simple view into something charmingly complex.

I used a 50mm fixed focal lens to take these photos, it is a lens that works for almost everything I like to do with a camera and its light absorption capacity allows me to work without making too many adjustments to the camera settings. camera. Just use it at f/5 aperture and an ISO of 320 or 400 and almost anything I'm going to have in front of it can be easily dealt with. On the other hand, being a fixed lens, it forces me to take the photo standing at the precise point where it is most convenient.

Usé un objetivo de focal fija 50 mm para hacer estas fotos, es un lente el cual me sirve para casi todo lo que me gusta hacer con una cámara y su capacidad de absorción de luz me permite trabajar sin realizar demasiadas modificaciones en los ajustes de la cámara. Basta con usarlo en apertura f/5 y un ISO de 320 o 400 y casi todo lo que voy a etner por delante puede enfrentarse fácilmente. Por otra parte, al ser de focal fija, me obliga a hacer la foto parado en el punto preciso en donde más conviene.

As always, I took these shots in RAW format and processed them using Adobe Camera RAW... Later, I wanted to have a lot of fun editing (foggy photos are a lot of fun to edit) and dramatized the exported JPG images using Photoshop ... I used the lighten and darken brushes to create vignetting, also corrected the greens by adding magenta and subtracting cyan in some photos, for some "fall drama" in the foliage.

Como siempre, hcie estas capturas en foprmato RAW y las procesé usando Adobe Camera RAW... Posteriormente, quise divertirme en grande con la edición (las fotos con niebla son muy divertidas para editar) y me dediqué a dramatizar las imágenes JPG exportadas usando Photoshop... Utilicé las brochas de aclarado y obscurecimiento para generar viñetas, también corregí puntualmente los verdes agregándoles magenta y restándo cían en algunas fotos, esto para lograr algo de "drama otoñal" en el follaje.

Open field photographs do not allow a global edition of the image in terms of lights and contrasts, so I chose to use separate layers for the darkest parts (the grass in general) and the lightest parts (the whitish fog). ... This can be somewhat cumbersome but at the same time funny and also provides pleasant results in which the possible visual boredom of an almost minimalist image is avoided by making use of contrast with certain tricks.

Las fotografías de campo abierto no permiten una edición global de la imagen en cuanto a luces y contrastes se refiere, así que opté por usar capara separadas para las partes más obscuras (el pasto por lo general) y las más claras (la niebla blanquecina)... Esto puede resultar algo engorroso pero al mismo tiempo entretenido y además provee resultados agradables en los cuales el posible aburrimiento visual de una imagen casi minimalista se evita haciendo uso del contraste con cierta maña.
