DAILY PHOTO CATHARSIS - Street photography from Montalbán, Carabobo, Venezuela || ENG-ESP || (10 Pics)

Today I "made the mistake" of watching the international and national news during my breakfast... I really don't know when I'll learn not to do it!... But it seems to be a kind of "hard to erase habit" and so, unsurprisingly, I ended up feeling like I was sitting on a time bomb that could go bang at any moment... So to remedy this I did what I always do: I went to the streets, took pictures and came back to sit down to edit them on my old PC... That always works! ;)

This is going to sound very strange, but: "I can count with my hands the people I know who watch the news in my town and I'd have fingers to spare, I'm sure"... So when I go out on the streets I meet simple people, whose concerns are based on doing their work, earning some money to be able to eat and "knowing who died, got married or got divorced" in our village... That's how simple it is!... If I want to discuss international news for example, I have to make a video call to my eldest son who lives out of the country, or turn to former co-workers and friends who usually live and work far away from our village... Even my wife doesn't watch the news, geez!... And lately I too am trying to learn to watch less news, but as I said before: "it's a hard habit to erase", but I'm doing it less and less, it seems to me....

The arrival of the economic crisis has "added new worries" to the heads of the inhabitants in my town, most of them related to the lack of fuel, lack of drinking water and electricity service suspensions or changes in the value of the local currency. But it is very difficult to find people on my streets whose interests include international conflicts, climate change, the new space race or state politics, and when you try to talk to them about some of these issues, most of them look at you as if you were a Martian... So it's quite easy for me -a consummate nihilist- to go out on the street and do "catharsis"!... Anyway (to paraphrase my friend who works as a natural juice vendor) "If the world is going to end, it will end! :)

Obviously, my "street teraphy" so to speak, is perfectly complemented by long hours editing photographs, and listening to mantras and classical music, also writing these short and slightly crazy articles to share with you on #Hive... Can you ask for a better treatment to clear my mind and do what I love?... ;)

I usually don't watch the news, it's like a whole bunch of chaos every day and when I find out it's been weeks and it's no longer worth the event, it's better to go out and take pictures without the novelty of the news.

You know this kind of real life photography during the crisis and troubles is great statement and has its historical value and I'm happy you are posting them on blockchain so they can remain alive for many years to come. Good work buddy and thank you for the story (context) also.

as usual amazing series of the foggy moments in your living place, Jesus.
about the news. i also don't use any conventional kind of media - TV, radio, newspaper, news websites already years and years. Just have no TV at home. And the radio in my car set only to three channels - one is only musical programs of all kinds of interests with no pauses for the news, another one is the Art and Culture station and i should be very fast to stop it when the 3-5 munes of the news are starting. And the last one is the Classic music channel with no ADs but sometimes news.
Because i'm living in one of the hottest points today for the breaking news i use Twitter with a few channels posting the only news about the bombing and alerts in the whole area. Maybe also a little bit superfluous. But hey, its crazy war is going just 200 km from me. And when they bomb Tel Aviv, the rockets are flying over my head if i'm at home, or just on me when i'm in the office.
And your friend was very right - "If the world is going to end, it will end! and we will know about without the news :-))))
