I have some days when the fog is not only out there on the streets of my town, but it also gets into my head diluting the solidity of every thought as if it were a solvent attacking old layers of paint on a rusty surface... So, in those days, my photographic archives are my refuge, the one where I let time pass until I regain a little coherence, enough to return to the world and be able to look people in the eyes and understand them... Today is one of those fateful days, it may not be anything serious, it may happen to everyone. But I, in my infinite weirdness, try to embrace them, get absorbed processing and editing my photos, and even try to understand them a little...

Tengo algunos días en los que la niebla no está solo allá fuera en las calles de mi pueblo, si no que también se mete en mi cabeza diluyendo la solidez de cada pensamiento como si fuese un solvente atacando viejas capas de pintura sobre una superficie oxidada... Entonces, en esos días, mis archivos fotográfico son mi refugio, aquel en donde dejo discurrir el tiempo hasta recobrar un poco de coherencia, la suficiente como para retornar al mundo y poder mirar a las personas a los ojos y entenderlas... Hoy es uno de esos días aciagos, puede que no sea nada grave, puede a que a todos ocurra. Pero yo, en mi infinita rareza, procuro abrazarlos, ensimismarme procesando y editando mis fotos, e incluso intentar entenderlos un poco...

Photography is a balm, at least for me it is... I have never subscribed to the standards dictated for what here, or at least in my social environment and especially the family, is usually called "sanity". So, from time to time I collide with a lot of what surrounds me. Before I could collapse, and I don't deny that I can still go to an old warehouse in my backyard and kick some things as a catharsis 🤣 (I especially love kicking old metal bins, which I can return more or less to their original shape later, using an old rubber mallet of those that brass workers use to repair dents)... But since I take photographs, I have been gradually preferring to return to tranquility by sitting in my studio like today and dedicating myself to working on my photos... So this is good, for me and for the people around, I guess...

La fotografía es un bálsamo, cuando menos para mi lo es... Nunca he estado suscrito a los estándares dictados para lo que aquí, o cuando menos en mi entorno social y especialmente el familiar, suele llamarse "cordura". Así, que de vez en cuando choco con mucho de lo que me rodea. Antes podía colapsar, y no niego que aún puedo ir hasta un viejo deposito en mi patio trasero y patear algunas cosas a manera de catarsis 🤣 (amo especialmente patear viejas papeleras metálicas, las cuales puedo regresar más o menos a su forma original después, utilizando un viejo mazo de goma de esos que usan los latoneros para reparar abolladuras)... Pero desde que hago fotografías, he ido paulatinamente prefiriendo volver a la tranquilidad sentándome en mi estudio como hoy y dedicarme a trabajar en mis fotos... Así que esto es bueno, para mi y para la gente alrededor, supongo...

_{ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
