Well, this morning I had the chance to get away from the town streets and head to the countryside north of the valley where Montalbán is located. And, to be honest, what I mainly wanted was to walk around without thinking too much about anything. But, as usual, I brought my camera with me and wanted to take some photos to share with you all here on #Hive...

Bien, hoy en la mañana tuve la oportunidad de alejarme de las calles del pueblo y dirigirme a la zona campestre al Norte del valle en donde está Montalbán. Y, para ser sincero, lo que quería principalmente era caminar sin pensar demasiado en nada. Pero, como de costumbre, he llevado mi cámara conmigo y he querido hacer algunas fotos para compartirlas hoy con ustedes aquí en #Hive...

The countryside was typical of a dry season day: dusty roads, some pastures turning yellow and brown, a few cows, tractors, some trees with bare branches, but others already sporting new foliage thanks to their deep roots that draw in moisture. And as usual in these places, there was plenty to photograph and, at the same time, a welcome distraction from everyday worries...

El campo estaba como es típico en días de estación seca: mucho polvo en los caminos, algunos pastizales poniéndose amarillos y marrones, unas cuantas vacas, tractores algunos árboles tienen sus ramas desnudas, pero otros han renovado ya su follaje gracias a sus raíces profundas con las cuales encuentran humedad. Y como de costumbre en estos lugares; había un montón de cosas para fotografiar y al mismo tiempo distraer la mente de los problemas cotidianos...

The light today was tricky, as the sky was dotted with clouds everywhere, but not uniformly. To the east, we had low, dense clouds, some even a bit gray. However, in that direction, there were also thinner clouds which, at times, allowed more sunlight to pass through, which was more of the kind I call "metallic light." But to the west, on the contrary, we had a bluer sky dotted with small, white clouds, mostly high cirrus and altocumulus. You can see all of this in the photos in this post, whose brightness and color temperatures are quite varied for this reason...

La luz hoy era cosa complicada, pues el cielo estaba salpicado de nubes por todas partes, pero no era algo que ocurriese de manera uniforme; hacia el Este, teníamos nubes bajas y densas, algunas de ellas incluso un poco grises. Sin embargo, en esa dirección, también habían nubes más tenues las cuales por momentos permitían más paso de la luz solar, la cual era más bien del tipo el cual llamo "luz metálica". Pero hacia el Oeste, por el contrario, teníamos un cielo más azul y salpicado de nubes blancas y pequeñas, la mayoría de ellas altas del tipo cirros y altocúmulos. Todo esto pueden apreciarlo en las fotos de este post, cuya luminosidad y temperaturas de colores son bastante diversas por esta razón...

Despite the challenging natural light available today, I took all sorts of photos. From landscapes to cloudy skies, close-up details like withered flowers and burnt tree trunks, to shots challenging the backlight, and more. In fact, I think having a day with less-than-ideal light for photography actually motivated me to take the most difficult shots under those conditions. So, processing the RAW files was just as arduous, rewarding, and fun as the walk itself...

A pesar de la complejidad de la luz natural disponible hoy, hice fotos de todo tipo. Desde paisajes, hasta fotos del cielo con nubes, pasando por detalles cercanos como flores cecas y troncos quemados, hasta fotos desafiando el contraluz y otras por el estilo. De hecho, creo que el hecho de tener un día con una luz que no es la mejor para hacer fotos, fue algo que me impulsó a empeñarme en hacer las fotos más difíciles también bajo este patrón de luz. Así que el procesamiento de los RAW de estas fotos fue también tan arduo, gratificante y divertido como la caminata en sí...

I hope you enjoyed the photos of our local countryside as much as I did today. As a final note, here's a picture of this cute little puppy who came out to greet me from the side of the road as I was passing by, and even posed for this photo...
