These are the country roads south of Montalbán (Venezuela)... As I said in some of my recent posts, we are in the middle of the rainy season and it is quite a challenge to have a morning with a benevolent enough weather to go out and exercise a little and at the same time take photos. But here we have a phrase that says "he who wants, can!"and so it usually happens with this... I invite you then to continue ahead in this publication, enjoy my photos in rural spaces and also read a little about my experience doing this...

Estos son los caminos rurales al sur de Montalbán (Venezuela)... Tal como dije en algunas de mis publicaciones recientes, estamos en plena temporada de lluvias y es todo un desafío disponer de una mañana con clima lo suficientemente benevolente como para salir a ejercitarme un poco y al mismo tiempo tomar fotos. Pero aquí tenemos una frase que dice "El que quiere puede" y así suele suceder con esto... Los invito entonces a continuar adelante en esta publicación, disfrutar de mis fotos en entornos rurales y también leer un poco acerca de mi experiencia haciendo esto...

The morning was quite cloudy and you could feel the high humidity in the air. I decided to take my old bike 🚲 for the first time in weeks (📷 01) and so I could exercise having the possibility to take shelter faster in case of rain... I stopped several times, I photographed the entrance of an old hacienda where tobacco was grown until the end of the last century (📷 02), I also took some photographic shots of paddocks (📷 03) with cows and horses, but the brightness was still quite scarce, so I ended up choosing go ahead the long way about 4 Km to the South (📷 04) until I reached a place where the vegetation becomes taller, the road becomes narrow and a small river crosses it (📷 05, 06 and 07) There I was remembering my childhood years, when I used to come to this small river to catch small fish 🎣 and take them to my aquarium, that's almost half a century ago, time passes really fast... 🙁

La mañana era bastante nublada y se podía percibir la alta humedad en el aire. Decidí tomar mi vieja bicicleta 🚲 por primera vez en semanas (📷 01) y así poder ejercitarme teniendo la posibilidad de refugiarme de manera más rápida en caso de lluvia... Me detuve varias veces, fotografíe la entrada de una antigua hacienda en la cual se cultivaba tabaco hasta finales del siglo pasado (📷 02), también hice algunas tomas fotográficas de potreros (📷 03) con vacas y caballos, pero la luminosidad seguía siendo bastante escaza, así que terminé optando por recorrer el largo camino unos 4 Km al Sur (📷 04) hasta llegar a un lugar en donde la vegetación se hace más alta, la carretera se hace angosta y un pequeño río la atraviesa (📷 05, 06 y 07) Allí estuve recordando mis años de infancia, cuando solía venir a este pequeño río a atrapar pequeños peces 🎣 y llevarlos a mi acuario, de eso hace ya casi medio siglo, el tiempo pasa verdaderamente rápido... 🙁

These are very lonely roads, so it is rare to see motor vehicles driving in the early hours. Thanks to this, my "Kodak Moment" 📸 of the day was given to me by the members of a beautiful pack composed of three lazy dogs and a cat, which I found lying carelessly in the middle of the track (📷 08)... When they watched me dismount from my bike, one of the younger dogs barked suspiciously and stood up (📷 09), while the other young dog watched me sympathetically and even came wagging his tail to where I was crouched, to receive some affection (📷 10). Then the young dogs left 🐕 and only the one who seemed to be the "alpha dog" with his cat in tow was left lying on the pavement (📷 11) 🐶😻 A charming image, in my opinion!... However, soon after the "alpha dog" decided to throw his "protected cat" off his back and "make the photographer run" (📷 12) 😮 and that's how I ended up running away on my bike along that road! 😂 🚴

Estos son caminos muy solitarios, así que es raro ver vehículos automotores transitando en horas tempranas. Gracias a esto, mi "Momento Kodak" 📸 del día me lo regalaron los miembros de una hermosa manada compuesta por tres perro y un gato perezosos, los cuales encontré echados despreocupadamente en mitad de la vía (📷 08)... Cuando me observaron desmontar de mi bicicleta, uno de los perros más jóvenes ladró con recelo y se puso de pie (📷 09), mientras el otro perro joven me observaba con simpatía e incluso vino meneando su cola hasta donde estaba yo agachado para recibir un poco de cariño (📷 10). Después los perros jóvenes se marcharon 🐕 y solo quedó echado en el pavimento, el que parecía ser el "perro alfa" con su gato a cuestas (📷 11) 🐶😻 ¡Una imagen encantadora, a mi juicio!... Sin embargo, poco después el "perro alfa" decidió lanzar a su gato protegido de su lomo y "hacer correr al fotógrafo" (📷 12) 😮 ¡y así fue como terminé huyendo sobre mi bicicleta a lo largo de aquel camino! 😂 🚴

After fortunately escaping unharmed from that "friendly" protective dog 🐶😅, I stopped to catch my breath already on the way back. I got distracted by watching the dew-covered cobwebs (📷 13) and looking down the road as a man walked slowly along it in the distance... This is an ideal place to "just take pictures" and try to clear your mind...

Después de huir afortunadamente ileso de aquél "simpático" perro protector 🐶😅, me detuve a recuperar el aliento ya en el camino de vuelta. Me distraje observando las telarañas cubiertas de rocío (📷 13) y mirando hacia el camino mientras un hombre lo recorría lentamente a lo lejos... Este es un lugar ideal para "simplemente hacer fotos" y procurar despejar la mente...

The fog had already risen quite a bit and the ambient light was stronger. So I stopped for another interval of time in the paddocks to take photos of the cows (📷 15, 16, 17 and 18) I like to observe this kind of bucolic landscapes, you can always get photos here which describe very well how the countryside is at these times of the middle of the year... 🐮 🐄

Ya la niebla se había elevado bastante y al luz ambiental era más fuerte. Así que me detuve durante otro intervalo de tiempo en los potreros para hacer fotos de las vacas (📷 15, 16, 17 y 18) Me gusta observar este tipo de paisajes bucólicos, siempre se pueden lograr aquí fotos las cuales describen muy bien cómo es el entorno campestre en estas épocas de mediado de año... 🐮 🐄

Every so many meters the vegetation on the sides of the road gets a little thicker (📷 19) and there are even trees like the "jobo" whose fruits usually fall in abundance on the road (📷 20) generating an intense sweet and sour smell, which will attract many insects that come to feed on these fermented fruits during the midday and afternoon hours... I also found a couple of horses 🐴 resting under the trees (📷 21) One of them seemed to be absorbed looking at some chickens 🐔 around him (📷 22) while the other came up to me and watched me (📷 23) without blinking 😕... I immediately backed up and got on my bike! 😂... I had had enough of that dog chasing me that day, I didn't want that to happen to me with a horse too!... 🤣🚴🐎

Cada tantos metros la vegetación a los lados del camino se hace un poco más espesa (📷 19) e incluso hay árboles frutales como el "jobo" cuyas frutas suelen caer en abundancia sobre a carretera (📷 20) generando un intenso olor agridulce, el cual atraerá muchos insectos que vienen a alimentarse de estas frutas fermentadas durante las horas del mediodía y la tarde... También encontré un par de caballos 🐴 descansando bajo los árboles (📷 21) Uno de ellos parecía estar absorto mirando algunas gallinas 🐔 a su alrededor (📷 22) mientras que el otro se acercó a mi y me observaba (📷 23)sin parpadear 😕... ¡De inmediato retrocedí y subí a mi bicicleta! 😂... ¡Ya había tenido suficiente con un perro persiguiéndome ese día, no quería que eso también me sucediese con un caballo!... 🤣🚴🐎

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7

NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape v3.7
