CONTEMPLATION - (PHOTOGRAPHY SERIES)

Tcats.jpg

I woke up today feeling detached enough to brush aside my obligations and stay home all morning looking at photos on my PC monitor, while a parade of strange ideas drifted through my head—I don't even say "mind" anymore to describe this, as the mind feels like something separate. Many of these ideas explain to me—yes, it’s that odd—how I truly exist apart from all of this. And by "all of this," I mean the body, the mind, and this essential identity... It sounds strange, I know, but that is why the word "contemplation" crossed my mind today as I looked at and processed my photos. There is something about days like this that makes me feel I am simply there, contemplating everything; the fact that I perceive myself as a specific individual is merely due to the moments when I focus my attention on what I now like to call "the character"... And so, I decided to write a little today about this feeling... It doesn't happen every day, but it is becoming increasingly frequent... Nor is it a negative thing—at least, it doesn't seem that way to me; rather, it is something that gradually improves me—or improves the one I call "the character"...
