Hello friends, today I invite you to enjoy my photo editing work for images of old vehicles found on my street walks... Simply observing these old cars, trucks, and tractors is interesting in itself. But photographing them and experimenting with these photos by creating diptychs with inverted and monochrome versions is downright fun for me... I really loved the results!

Hola amigos, hoy les invito a disfrutar de mi trabajo de edición fotográfica para imágenes de vehículos viejos encontrados en mis caminatas callejeras... El simple hecho de observar estos viejos autos, camiones y tractores es ya de por sí algo interesante. Pero fotografiarlos y experimentas con estas fotos creando dípticos con versiones invertidas y monocromáticas, es algo para mi francamente divertido... ¡realmente amé los resultados que obtuve!...

The recipe for this is relatively simple:

1. I spend a couple of hours digging through my RAW files.
2. I select a dozen photos that feature old vehicles as the main subject.
3. I process each color photo in a unique way, depending on the nature of the image itself.
4. From the color versions, I create black and white versions with horizontal inversion (reflection).
5. I combine (also horizontally) each photo ith its black and white counterpart.

La receta para esto es relativamente simple:

1. Me dedico un par de horas a hurgar en mis archivos RAW.
2. Selecciono una docena de fotos en donde aparecen vehículos viejos como sujeto principal.
3. Proceso cada foto a color de manera particular y dependiendo del carácter de la imagen en sí.
4. Partiendo de las versiones a color, creo versiones blanco y negro con inversión (reflejo) horizontal.
5. Combino (también en horizontal) cada foto con su contraparte en blanco y negro.

Here I find many 1970s Nissan Patrol 4x4 utility vehicles. In those years, this was a prosperous agricultural municipality, and many producers are accustomed to purchasing these types of vehicles due to their durability, versatility, and excellent performance in rural settings. Large INTERNATIONAL brand trucks were also favored in those years for hauling loads of citrus fruits grown in these valleys. However, all that is long gone, and production levels have dropped dramatically, especially during the last quarter of a century. Nevertheless, these vehicles, along with some old sedans and even tractors, continue to bear witness to the once-prosperous past that existed here in our town of Montalbán during the last century. Some are still operational, others lie as scrap metal in the streets. Either way, they're always good to photograph.

Aquí encuentro muchos vehículos utilitarios 4x4 Nissan Patrol de los años 70. En esos años este era un próspero municipio agrícola y muchos productores acostumbran a comprar ese tipo de vehículos debido a su durabilidad, versatilidad y prestaciones excelentes en entornos rurales. También los grandes camiones mara INTERNATIONAL eran los favoritos en aquellos años para llevar las cargas de cítricos cultivados en estos valles. Sin embargo, todo eso quedó atrás y los niveles de producción han bajado dramáticamente en especial durante el ultimo cuarto de siglo. Sin embargo, estos vehículos, junto con algunos viejos sedanes e incluso tractores, siguen atestiguando la otrora prosperidad que se vivió el siglo pasado aquí en nuestro pueblo Montalbán. Algunos siguen operativos, otros yacen como chatarras en las calles. Sea como sea, siempre son algo bueno para fotografiar.

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7

NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape v3.7
