Early this morning, around 2:00 AM, I woke up in my bed and felt thirsty, so I stood up and walked to the kitchen of my house with the intention of drinking a glass of water. Two of our cats followed me to the kitchen, perhaps thinking that they could convince me to put some cat kibble in their bowls at that hour; I always do that despite the fact that my wife has expressly forbidden feeding them outside the established schedules, but I like to indulge their cravings and my cats know it perfectly well. After, silently, feeding my cats, I went to the refrigerator, filled a glass with water, and it was then when I felt the ground move a little under my feet. Surely it was another seismic aftershock (later I confirmed it had been magnitude 3.0 and had its epicenter in La Guaira, the place most affected by the earthquakes of last month)... I left the glass half-finished on the kitchen cabinet and looked at our cats; they too had stopped eating their long-awaited "early morning kibble" and looked me in the eyes with what, in my judgment, was a look of weariness already, because no matter how much these softer aftershocks keep happening, one does not get used to it... But well, I narrate all this to you because after what happened at that moment, I couldn't sleep anymore and I went to my small studio, sat in front of my PC, and dedicated myself to selecting and processing these cat photos that I am sharing with you here on #Hive today, and this indeed seemed like a rather curious way to start working on my photos "after the umpteenth seismic aftershock of these last weeks"... 😐

La madrugada de hoy, cerca de las 2:00 AM, desperté en mi cama y sentí sed, así que me puse de pie y caminé hasta la cocina de mi casa con la intención de beber un vaso de agua. Dos de nuestros gatos me siguieron hasta la cocina, quizás pensando de que podrían convencerme de que les colocase algunas croquetas para gatos a esa hora en sus recipientes; siempre hago eso a pesar de que mi esposa tiene expresamente prohibido alimentarlos fuera de los horarios establecidos, pero a mí me gusta consentir sus antojos y mis gatos lo saben perfectamente. Luego de, silenciosamente, dar de comer a mis gatos, fui hasta el refrigerador, llené un vaso con agua y fue entonces cuando sentí el suelo moverse un poco bajo mis pies. Seguramente se trataba de otra réplica sísmica (luego confirmé que había sido de magnitud 3.0 y había tenido su epicentro en La Guaira, el lugar más afectado por los terremotos del pasado mes)... Dejé el vaso a medio terminar sobre el gabinete de la cocina y miré a nuestros gatos; ellos también habían dejado de comer sus ansiadas "croquetas de la madrugada" y me miraban a los ojos con lo que, a mi juicio, era una mirada de hartazgo ya, pues por mucho que sigan ocurriendo estas réplicas más suaves, uno no se acostumbra a ello... Pero bien, les narro todo esto porque, después de lo sucedido en ese momento, no pude dormir más y me fui a mi pequeño estudio, me senté enfrente de mi PC y me dediqué a seleccionar y procesar estas fotos de gatos que estoy compartiendo con ustedes aquí en #Hive hoy, y esta sí que me pareció una manera bastante curiosa de comenzar a trabajar sobre mis fotos "después de la enésima réplica sísmica de estas últimas semanas"... 😐
