Montalbán, my town, in the midday hours, is somewhat different from the way it is in the early hours of the morning (it is not usually foggy at noon and that is enough to make it look very different)... From time to time I usually have the opportunity to wander around these streets at this time of the day and take pictures of how it is here when people are fully engaged in their daily activities... It is a small town and sometimes predictable as to how some of its streets behave. For example, I know that around 1:00 PM the feverish activity ceases practically in its entirety because most people are engaged in lunch. Therefore, if I want to take this kind of photos, it is always best to go out to the streets before 12 noon and take advantage of that kind of spontaneous “climax” that occurs here... But, let's illustrate all this I tell you with some of my street photos from another of my “street noon” for you here at #Hive...

Montalbán, mi pueblo, en horas del mediodía, es algo distinto a como es en las primeras horas de la mañana (no suele tener niebla al mediodía y eso ya es bastante como para que de por sí luzca distinto 😄)... De vez cuando suelo tener la oportunidad de deambular por estas calles a estas horas del día y hacer fotografías de como es aquí cuando las personas están dedicadas a sus actividades cotidianas en plenitud... Es un pueblo pequeño y a veces predecible en cuanto al comportamiento de algunas de sus calles. Por ejemplo, sé que cerca de 1:00 PM la febril actividad cesa prácticamente en su totalidad debido a que la mayoría de las personas se dedica a almorzar. Por lo tanto, si deseo hacer este tipo de fotos, lo mejor siempre es salir a las calles antes de la 12 del mediodía y aprovechar esa especie de "clímax" espontaneo que ocurre aquí... Pero, ilustremos todo esto que les digo con algunas de mis fotos callejeras de otro de mis "mediodías callejeros" para ustedes aquí en #Hive...

I took these photos on a day when the absence of rain allowed me to go outside without fear of ending up in a sudden downpour. However, the sunlight was for a good part of that time, softened by some clouds in the sky. So, from a photographic point of view, this was a very good midday, full of mostly active streets, with a noticeable amount of bicycles and motorcycles coming and going, as fuel is always scarce here and people try to get around by optional methods all the time... At times and days like this, the town is diaphanous and in many cases there is a certain joy that seems to take people away from the typical heaviness of some mornings. I have always found it more difficult to wander my streets in the midday hours and during the afternoons. After all, I'm a fairly taciturn guy and often prefer to sneak through the foggy morning streets. But I must confess that I am liking more and more the photo walks at peak hours, like these...

Hice estas fotos en un día en donde la ausencia de lluvias me permitió salir a la calle sin temor de terminar bajo un chubasco repentino. Sin embargo, la luz solar estuvo durante buena parte de ese lapso de tiempo, atenuada por algunas nubes en el cielo. Así que, fotográficamente hablando, este fue un muy buen mediodía, repleto de calles en su mayoría activas, con una perceptible cantidad de bicicletas y motocicletas yendo y viniendo, pues aquí el combustible siempre es escaso y las personas procuran movilizarse a través de métodos opcionales todo el tiempo... En momentos y días como este, el pueblo es diáfano y en muchos casos se percibe cierta alegría que parece alejar a las persona de la pesadez típica durante algunas mañanas. Siempre se me ha hecho más difícil deambular mis calles en horas del mediodía y durante las tardes. Después de todo, soy un tipo medianamente taciturno y con frecuencia prefiero escabullirme entre las calles repletas de niebla de la mañana. Pero debo de confesar que lasa caminatas fotográficas en horas de mayor actividad, como estas, me están gustando cada vez más y más...

There is so much in these streets, and at midday it is easy that colors, sounds and movement are the protagonists of colorful and eloquent scenes... The punctual details seem to lose relevance before the irrefutable presence of the scenes taking place in open and diaphanous shots... It is easy in these hours to find oneself surrounded by visions on both sides of the streets. Then it is necessary for me to act and think faster in order to “steal pictures from time” and freeze them in the memory of my camera once again. All this is not only fun, but also humanly enriching.

Hay tanto en estas calles, y al mediodía es fácil que los colores, los sonidos y el movimiento sean los protagonistas de escenas variopintas y elocuentes... Los detalles puntuales parecen perder relevancia ante la irrefutable presencia de las escenas ocurriendo en planos abiertos y diáfanos... Es fácil en estas horas encontrarse a si mismo rodeado de visiones a lado y lado de las calles. Entonces me es necesario actuar y pensar más rápido para poder "robarle fotos al tiempo" y congelarlas en la memoria de mi cámara una vez más. Todo esto es, además de divertido, humanamente enriquecedor.

I think I will gradually increase my walking the streets at times other than in the morning. It's always good to enjoy my surroundings at different times than I'm used to. Creo que incrementaré paulatinamente mis recorridos por las calles du8rante horas distintas a la mañana. Siempre es bueno disfrutar de mi entorno en momentos distintos a los que acostumbro. ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL NOTE: Photographs captured with my Nikon D7000 DSLR camera in RAW format, then processed in Adobe Camera RAW for adjustments regarding light, sharpening, contrast and depth... They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7

NOTA TÉCNICA ADICIONAL: Fotografias capturadas con mi cámara DSLR Nikon D7000 en formato RAW, procesadas posteriormente en Adobe Camera RAW para ajustes relativos a luz, afilado, contraste y profundidad... Luego fueron exportadas a formato JGP sobre el cual se llevaron a cabo modificaciones menores como enderezado y agregado de marcas de agua usando PhotoScape v3.7
