Those of you who follow my blog here on #Hive (and thank you for that, my friends) may have already seen my selections of photographs taken in these rural areas south of my hometown (Montalbán, Carabobo, Venezuela). This is a place whose paths I frequently travel. I do so for various reasons: to exercise, to relax, to observe nature, and —most importantly— to take photographs, because, above all, I am a photographer wandering through these places, and everything else tends to become secondary...

Aquellos de ustedes que siguen mi blog aquí en #Hive (y gracias por eso amigos), quizás ya han visto mis selecciones de fotografías hechas en estos predios rurales al Sur de mi pueblo (Montalbán, Carabobo, Venezuela). Este es un lugar cuyos caminos suelo recorrer con cierta frecuencia. Lo hago por diversas razones: para ejercitarme, para relajarme, para observar la naturaleza y -principalmente- para hacer fotografías, porque antes que todo, yo soy un fotógrafo deambulando en estos lugares y todo lo demás tiende a hacerse secundario...

The "Agua de Obispo" valley is crossed by a paved road that extends approximately 5 km from the town center. However, there are also secondary roads, many of them dirt and others used as trails. Everything here is ideal for long walks, as there is little four-wheel drive traffic. Furthermore, in the morning, it is easy to find people commuting to work in the fields and also exercising. The entire route is flat, except for some gentle slopes found in sections where a stream crosses the path. It is also a delightful route for cycling, precisely because of its flat terrain.

A el valle de "Agua de Obispo" lo atraviesa una carretera pavimentada la cual se aleja hasta unos 5 Km del centro del pueblo. Pero también hay caminos secundarios, muchos de ellos de tierra y otros agostos como senderos. Todo aquí es ideal para hacer largas caminatas, ya que el trafico de vehículos de cuatro ruedas es escaso. Además, en horas de la mañana es fácil encontrar gente yendo y viniendo a sus trabajos en los campos y también ejercitándose. Todo el trayecto es plano, salvo por algunas pendientes suaves encontradas en los tramos en los que algún arrollo atraviesa el camino. También es una ruta deliciosa para hacer paseos en bicicleta, precisamente por lo plano de su relieve.

"Agua de Obispo" is—obviously—part of our municipality, also called Montalbán, but unlike the town center, this area has remained very rural and used for cattle ranching, as well as for the planting of grass, tobacco, and other crops. Therefore, here you will see farms, plots of land, and other types of properties with some infrastructure for these agricultural activities. This creates a view where the human and the natural converge in a charming way, which is ideal for taking photographs like the ones I'm sharing with you today in this post.

"Agua de Obispo" es -obviamente- parte del nuestro municipio también llamado Montalbán, pero contrario al centro del pueblo, esta área ha permanecido muy rural y destinada a la cría de ganado así como a la siembra de pastos, tabaco y otros rubros. Por lo tanto aquí observarán fincas, parcelas y otros tipos propiedades con alguna infraestructura para ejercer estas actividades agropecuarias. Entonces, esto propicia una visión en donde lo humano y lo natural convergen de manera encantadora, lo cual es ideal para hacer fotografías como las que estoy compartiendo con ustedes hoy en esta publicación.

Perhaps the best time to visit "Agua de Obispo" is in the morning, especially when there's a dense fog blanketing the valley. Then the paths and the landscape in general take on magic, and visual puzzles begin to appear everywhere, just waiting to be photographed. One of the most enchanting sights to observe on these densely foggy mornings are the dew-covered cobwebs. As you can see in my photos, they can even capture your attention and make you spend quite a bit of time observing and photographing them.

Quizás las mejores horas para visitar "Agua de Obispo" sean las de la mañana. Y especialmente cuando hay niebla densa cobijando el valle. Entonces los caminos y el paisaje en general cobra magia y los acertijos visuales comienzan a aparecer por doquier, esperando únicamente que se les dispare una foto. Una de las cosas más encantadoras de observar en estas mañanas de niebla densa, son las telarañas cubiertas de rocío. Las cuales, como pueden observar en mis fotos, pueden incluso robar la tención y hacer que uno invierta bastante tiempo observándolas y haciéndoles fotografías.

When the inhabitants of Montalbán refer to "Agua de Obispo" they simply say: "over there in the countryside" or "along the country road" and this place is just that, a very rural and pleasant space... Curiously, the town itself was founded in 1732, but since 1630 there are records of Spanish settlers requesting the construction of a church, and at that time they wanted to do it precisely on "the site of Agua de Obispo." So according to this, these lands were inhabited by families even before what today forms the urban area of ​​the municipality. Cuando los habitantes de Montalbán se refieren a "Agua de Obispo" lo hacen simplemente diciendo: "allá en el campo" o "por el camino del campo" y es que este lugar es eso, un espacio muy campestre y agradable... Curiosamente, el pueblo en sí fue fundado en el año de 1732, pero desde 1630 ya hay registro de colonos españoles solicitando la construcción de una iglesia y en ese entonces querían hacerlo precisamente en "el sitio de Agua de Obispo". Así que según esto, estas tierras estuvieron habitadas por familias incluso antes de lo que hoy forma el área urbana del municipio.
