A WEDNESDAY IN MARCH! - From Montalbán, Carabobo St., Venezuela || ENG-ESP || (18 Pics)
We are practically in the middle of March, the morning air is a bit thick perhaps due to the smoke from a forest fire that occurred far from the valley of Montalbán. The temperature, even though it is still early, is relatively high and the thermometer marks about 24°C at 7:00 AM. The streets of the town are silent and in the distance you can hear the sound of birds in the foothills of the mountains. So after drinking a cup of coffee and eating a couple of slices of bread, I take my camera and go for a walk towards those hills which I visit frequently...
We are in the middle of the dry season and the trees seem to be engaged in a frank dispute with the weather. Some of them are sprouting new leaves from their branches and others like the so-called “Caña Fistolas” are giving me the wonderful spectacle of their flowers growing in beautiful clusters, they are flowers of an intense yellow, almost orange, and they perfume everything around with an intense smell that goes from sweetness to citrus, frankly delicious... Despite the dry weather and the absence of rain for several weeks now, the hills are full of landscapes, colors, scents, sounds and of course a lot of life. So my camera and I pleasantly immersed ourselves in this intense and anarchic plethora that surrounds us...
I have reached this place after walking about 30 minutes and a couple of kilometers, so I am still close enough to the village to perceive now the precarious rumor of its streets. These hills make you feel close and far away from the village at the same time... Some people come here to exercise regularly and in fact, technically speaking, that is also my intention. But in my case in particular, the physical exercise always ends up being secondary and then I end up taking pictures and in love as always with everything that happens around me...
Time seems to be running very fast here... My breakfast was quite light, I didn't bring any water with me and when it's almost 10:00 AM the temperature has reached 30°C and may continue to increase. So I prefer to be prudent and go back. But I do it using some narrow shortcuts that go through the hills, save meters of walking and offer interesting views of how the drought, the relief and other things seem to conspire to offer lovely pictures...
We are only half way through the dry season and so far no fires have occurred in this area.... I hope that everything continues like this, dry but without burning, although already far in the distance the smoke seems threatening and it is good to be prepared. Fortunately we have in the municipality several groups of volunteers who are used to deal with this problem year after year...

You have some wonderful photos here, as well as a few bird watching! but my favourite is the one of the squirrel. 😃
Squirrels are so cute!... I love them too!... They used to come to my house, but since I have 7 cats, they don't anymore! :)) ...Thanks for stopping by and appreciating my work!

You are very welcome @jlinaresp! it was well deserved. ☀️
Keep up the great work 💪
Hello friend, what beautiful photos! I think the March warmth is already being felt in several regions of Venezuela. You took a lovely tour accompanied by several birds. Is it what I think, a squirrel? You took an excellent photo. I've tried to photograph them several times, and they're very agile and elusive. It's taken me several minutes to get at least one photo of them. This photo looks spectacular.
Thanks for sharing.
:)) Well, yesterday afternoon we had temperatures of 36°C!... We're already hot every day... Yes, that's a squirrel, at this time they find a lot of dry seeds and that makes them very active!... They are beautiful and happy animals, but certainly a little difficult to photograph!... Thanks for stopping by and appreciating my work @belkyscabrera friend! 🙏
