I took these photographs on a morning this week that is about to end. It was a morning with a sky full of those speckled clouds called “altocumulus,” I believe, and also with a very thin fog at ground level, which seemed to be trying to get closer to the village valley without ever quite deciding to do so. That day, I felt like taking a quick walk in the countryside to get some exercise. Walking always has a restorative effect on my mind and body. So I grabbed my old camera with my equally old 100mm macro lens and left my house with the idea of taking some photos of small things like insects or flowers, but also of walking quite a bit. But as often happens to me, I ended up taking photos that were very different from the ones I had in mind...

Y estas fotografías las hice en una mañana de esta semana que está a punto de terminar. Fue en una mañana con un cielo repleto de esas nubes como motas que llaman "altocumulus" según creo, y también con una niebla muy tenue al ras del suelo, la cual parecía estar intentando querer acercarse al valle del pueblo si terminar de decidirse en ningún momento. Ese día sentí deseos de hacer una rápida caminata al campo para ejercitarme. Caminar siempre hace un efecto restaurador en mi mente y en mi cuerpo. Así que tomé mi vieja cámara con mi también muy viejo lente para macros de 100mm y salí de mi casa con la idea de hacer algunas fotos de cosas pequeñas como insectos o flores pero también de caminar bastante. Pero como suele suceder conmigo en muchas ocasiones, terminé haciendo fotos muy diferentes a aquellas que tenía en mente hacer...

The light that morning was so good for taking photos that I ended up capturing a handful of very diverse images. Among them were even some shots of open rural landscapes, which is a bit strange to do with a 100mm focal length, but I'm very used to this, as I also use this fixed lens for street photography and somehow “I've learned to think and position myself based on 100mm”...

La luz durante aquella mañana era tan buena para hacer fotos, que terminé capturando un puñado de imágenes muy diversas. Entre ellas incluso algunas tomas de paisaje rural abiertas, cosa la cual es un poco extraño hacer con una distancia focal de 100mm, pero estoy muy acostumbrado a esto, pues uso este lente fijo también para fotografía callejera y de alguna manera "he aprendido a pensar y a colocarme en base a 100mm"...

Along the way, there were also a handful of beautiful cows, a horse accompanied by a heron, a few birds here and there, and even a couple of curious dogs on an old property who ran down to the road to greet me with their barking and watch me with curiosity. So, this rural area, as always happens when I come here, ended up giving me many photos, which I am sharing with you today here on #Hive...

Además habían a lo largo del camino un puñado de hermosas vacas, algún caballo acompañado por una garza, algunas aves aquí y allá; incluso un par de perros curiosos en una vieja propiedad recorrieron la distancia hasta el camino para saludarme con sus ladridos y observarme con curiosidad. Entonces, este espacio rural, como siempre sucede cuando vengo aquí, terminó por regalarme muchas fotos las cuales comparto hoy con ustedes aquí en #Hive...

I always come to this place, as I said before, to exercise and take photos. But this is something that goes beyond photos, because even spending a short time in places like this transforms the way you think and gives you a clearer mind to face everyday issues...

Vengo siempre a este lugar, lo hago, tal como dije antes, para ejercitarme y para hacer fotos. Pero esto es algo que va más allá de las fotos, porque estar incluso durante un breve espacio de tiempo en lugares como este, es algo que transforma incluso la manera de pensar de uno mismo y nos hace tener una mente más clara para enfrentar las cosas del día a día...
