Recently, tobacco leaf cultivation has been increasing even in riverbank areas. I am talking about the area around my grandmother’s village. Since my childhood, I have visited this village many times. I always liked the agricultural activities there, because in the past, sugarcane was widely cultivated in this region.

However, nowadays a new farming trend can be seen there, which is quite concerning. Although this crop can be profitable, it is harmful. Even if something brings money, it is not truly beneficial if it causes harm. Currently, the cultivation of tobacco leaves is becoming more common in that area.

Many farmers are now growing tobacco on large pieces of land. Today’s shadow photography was taken from that place. I captured these photos while walking along a small path that passes through the tobacco fields.

Personally, I feel it is not appropriate for rural communities to become involved in cultivating such addictive crops. What do you think about this situation?

I visited some people's backyards and they were drying these leaves. It was really sad to see. I don't know how they got involved in producing this crop. Such intoxicating crops should not be grown in such a beautiful village. The government should ban these crops.
