Splinterlands Weekly Art Contest Week 210. A Live Lichen Beast in the WILD!!!

I recently thought to myself that it would be amusing to take a photgraph of some lichen and draw the face of lichen beast on it.

So, I pulled up the image of lichen beast and realized that it looked a lot like a bear.

So, then I thought it might be interesting to copy/paste some lichen onto a bear. I did a quick google search for bears and there are some decent options.

Then I remembered that I had taken some recent pictures of bears at a place in Alaska called the Fortress of the Bear or something like that. Basically they take orphaned bears and keep them at this facility to live out their lives. They can't reintroduce them into the wild because with dead mothers they haven't learned to survive in the wild.

So here's the photo I took

Not very intimidating, so I took a photo of a roaring bear from google images to superimpose the head.

Here's the image I found on google

Let's stick some on the bear

So far this is not looking as good as I had hoped. It kind of looks more like little christmas trees than lichen. If I had tried to get my own photo's of lichen I'm not real sure that I would be able to tell lichen apart from moss. I'll keep adding lichen.

I'll give it a shot with the third type of lichen but so far I'm not impressed

Still not too impressive which brings us back to the original idea of drawing the lichen beast onto some lichen. Here I have the opportunity to draw onto a botched mess of lichen that's been overlayed onto a photo that I took of a bear. So, it's kinda got a similar shape to start with.

Now you know that I'm a master with Paint3D. That's one fierce lichen beast.

It's the yellow eyes that really do it for me, that's how I know that it belongs on the Splinterlands battlefield.

If you see one of these coming at you in the wild, you should probably thank the kid and stick it to the fridge with a magnet.

What do you think of my work?
Do you have any tips?
What are some other areas where we could take things found in nature and make a splinterlands related art piece?
I think it might be interesting to make a Living Lava out of pictures from a Lava flow. Or overlay it onto a video of a lava flow, so that it looks like the skin is alive and stuff.

I hope that you were entertained with my idea. I bet some of you could do a better job with something like this. I'm sure that I'll see you in the game. I'm better at the game than I am at drawing on a computer.
