Un saludo amoroso para todos mis amigos de Hive, hoy fue un hermoso día nublado en mi comunidad, las montañas nubladas al este de mi pueblo me recordaron un viaje que hice al estado Mérida hace un tiempo. Mi estadía allá fue corta, pero pude haberme quedado toda la vida, estoy hablando específicamente de San Rafael de Mucuchíes, uno de los pueblos más altos de Venezuela, ubicado a una altura de 3140 msnm.
Además de ser un sitio turístico visitado por personas de todo el país y del extranjero, San Rafael de Mucuchíes tiene una relevancia histórica de la cual me gustaría mencionar que fue uno de los lugares por los que pasó el Libertador Simón Bolívar durante la Campaña Admirable. También se encuentra allí la asombrosa Capilla de Piedra, un lugar muy tranquilo y espiritual, construido por el cultor Juan Félix Sánchez.
Además de todo lo anterior, San Rafael de Mucuchíes es un lugar extraordinario, en lo personal lo que más me impacto fue su bello paisaje, parece que los sentidos no son suficientes para percibir todo lo que tiene que ofrecer a nivel sensorial. Me gusta pensar que en San Rafael de Mucuchíes el cielo es más azul, el césped es más verde, los techos son más rojos y las personas son más humanas.
A pesar de que no pude volver, a veces mi mente viaja a la Laguna de Mucubají y me encuentro conmigo nadando en sus aguas sagradas, o una casita humilde comiendo arepas de trigo frente a la estufa caliente, otras veces corriendo entre las montañas con sus niños rosados o acariciando las flores de sus plantas peludas. A veces creo que una parte de mí no regreso del viaje a San Rafael de Mucuchíes.
Cerca de él esta Mucuchíes, también Apartaderos, otros dos hermosos pueblos de Venezuela que palpitan en lo más alto. Les comparto algunas de las fotos de mi visita, para que entiendan mejor lo que no se puede expresar en palabras.

A small paradise high in the mountains (Spanish/English)
Loving greetings to all my Hive friends, today was a beautiful cloudy day in my community, the cloudy mountains east of my town reminded me of a trip I made to Merida state some time ago. My stay there was short, but I could have stayed all my life, I am talking specifically about San Rafael de Mucuchíes, one of the highest towns in Venezuela, located at an altitude of 3140 meters above sea level.
Besides being a tourist site visited by people from all over the country and abroad, San Rafael de Mucuchíes has a historical relevance of which I would like to mention that it was one of the places through which the Liberator Simón Bolívar passed during the Admirable Campaign. Also located there is the amazing Stone Chapel, a very peaceful and spiritual place, built by the culturist Juan Felix Sanchez.
In addition to all of the above, San Rafael de Mucuchíes is an extraordinary place, personally what most impacted me was its beautiful landscape, it seems that the senses are not enough to perceive all that it has to offer at a sensory level. I like to think that in San Rafael de Mucuchíes the sky is bluer, the grass is greener, the roofs are redder and the people are more human.
Even though I could not return, sometimes my mind travels to the Mucubají Lagoon and I find myself swimming in its sacred waters, or a humble house eating wheat arepas in front of the hot stove, other times running among the mountains with its pink children or caressing the flowers of its hairy plants. Sometimes I think a part of me does not come back from the trip to San Rafael de Mucuchíes.
Nearby is Mucuchíes, also Apartaderos, two other beautiful villages of Venezuela that pulsate at the top. I share with you some of the photos of my visit, so that you can better understand what cannot be expressed in words.
