A tank telling the story of a community (English/Spanish)

A loving greeting to all my Hive friends, especially to photography lovers. On this occasion I want to share with you in the beautiful LikeTu initiative, a motivating space for meeting through beautiful photographs. I always strive to make sure that the photos on my blog look as good as possible and have the ability to narrate and accompany my readers. So without a doubt, this initiative is for me.

On this first day of the initiative, I will share with you something that identifies my community. I have lived for about 5 years in the community of San Lorenzo, a small town located in a rural area. For many years this community suffered a lot from the lack of water, since it is a relatively young community. But over the years they have managed to design very effective mechanisms to supply water to all the families that live or come to this small town.

When I first arrived here, one of the things that impacted me the most was the water tank. It is a tank of hundreds of thousands of liters that crowns the center of the village and is visible from the road. The water that reaches this tank comes through thousands of meters of pipes that extract the water from a natural dam that is located somewhere in the vicinity of the community.

The community has devised an impressive supply system, since the water service does not arrive to each house every day, but every two days, so each house must have its own storage system, which allows them to enjoy the water during the two days that the service is supplying another batch of families.

It sounds complicated, but it is really wonderful what the human species can do through organization to cover its vital needs. So for those reasons I share with you these photos of the water tank of my community, first of all because, as I said, I find it a very impressive tank that impacted me just arrived in San Lorenzo, the second reason is the value and importance that this tank has for hundreds of families.

Un tanque que cuenta la historia de una comunidad (Ingles/Español)

Un saludo amoroso para todos mis amigos de Hive, especialmente para los amantes de la fotografía. En esta ocasión quiero compartir con ustedes en la hermosa iniciativa de LikeTu, un motivador espacio para el encuentro a través de bellas fotografías. Siempre me esfuerzo porque las fotos en mi blog queden lo mejor posible y tengan la capacidad de narrar y acompañar a mis lectores. Así que sim duda, esta iniciativa es para mí.

En este primer día de iniciativa, les compartiré algo que identifica a mi comunidad. Vivo desde hace unos 5 años en la comunidad de San Lorenzo, un pequeño pueblo ubicado en una zona rural. Por muchos años esta comunidad sufrió mucho por la falta de agua, ya que es una comunidad relativamente joven. Pero con los años han logrado diseñar mecanismos muy efectivos para el abastecimiento de agua a todas las familias que viven o llegan a este pequeño poblado.

Cuando recién llegue aquí, una de las cosas que más me impacto fue el tanque del agua. Es una tanque de cientos de miles de litros que corona en centro del pueblo y se ve desde la carretera. El agua que llega a este tanque, lo hace a través de miles de metros de tubería que extraen el agua de un dique natural que está ubicado en algún lugar en las adyacencias de la comunidad.

La comunidad se ha ideado un sistema de abastecimiento impresionante, ya que a cada vivienda el servicio del agua no llega todos los días, sino cada dos días, por lo que cada vivienda debe tener su propio sistema de almacenamiento, que le permita disfrutar del agua durante los dos días que el servicio está abasteciendo a otro lote de familias.

Suena complicado, pero realmente es maravilloso lo que la especie humana puede hacer a través de la organización para cubrir sus necesidades vitales. Así que por esas razones les comparto estas fotos del tanque de agua de mi comunidad, primero que todo porque, como les comente, me parece un tanque muy imponente que me impacto recién llegue a San Lorenzo, la segunda razón el por el valor e importancia que tiene este tanque para cientos de familias.
