A stroll through the Venezuela Book Fair (English/Spanish)

A loving greeting to all my Hive friends, especially to the Wednesday adventurers. A few days ago I had a very special trip nothing more and nothing less than to the International Book Fair of Venezuela and I must tell you that it was a wonderful experience. It was a sunny and radiant day, perfect for strolling among the colorful tents full of books and culture. As always, this kind of events are held in the city, so we did not hesitate to take our bike and travel to the city of San Cristobal with all the illusion of participating once again in this great event.

My dear @aly.squid and I arrived very early, because as every year we wanted to participate in the children's pavilion reading with the children, who enthusiastically come to the book fair to discover new stories and adventures. Together we walked through the various stands of national and international publishers, browsing through books and sharing our literary recommendations. In addition, with a few children who were there at that time, we made a small reading circle, shared the story of the book Kaliebirri-nae kudeido and immediately discovered the words of a beautiful alphabet soup.

But what excited me most was the agenda of cultural activities scheduled for the day. I was especially excited about the lecture led by Néstor Curra, editor of the publishing house Tinta Papel y Vida. This publishing house has been a pioneer in the promotion of Venezuelan literature and especially for me that I have made several literary routes throughout the state of Táchira promoting books and reading with some of the works of this beautiful publishing house. I was anxious to hear the words of our colleague Néstor Curra.

The conversation was truly inspiring. Nestor Curra shared his passion for literature and the importance of promoting reading in Venezuelan society. He spoke to us about the challenges and opportunities facing writers and publishers in the country. But the most beautiful thing is the respect and love with which Professor Curra works with the children who were also part of the conversation.

But the excitement did not end there. After the talk, we went to the main stage to witness the poetic-musical presentation of our dear friend Celia Marcano. Celia is a talented musician, who has captivated audiences all over the country with her emotive repertoire and deep melodies, focused on promoting traditional Venezuelan music.

Along with Celia, several poets from the region and the center of the country joined Celia on stage to share their verses and emotions with the audience. It was an extraordinary show, full of poetry, music and love for literature. The atmosphere was magical, and I felt fortunate to be part of that unique moment.

After the presentation, I had the opportunity to talk with some of the poets and writers present at the event. It was amazing to hear their stories and their experiences in the world of literature. I was inspired by the presentation of a beautiful book that I finally bought, since it was related to the beautiful art of storytelling and in its pages it provided several tools to master it better. Something that represents for me one of my greatest interests.

At the end of the day, as I walked away from the fair with a heart full of gratitude and joy, I reflected on the importance of events like this. The International Book Fair of Venezuela is not only a space for the sale of books, but also a place to meet and celebrate literature and culture. It is unfortunate that it can only take place in the capital of the state, since in more remote places children have less access to books. But that leaves Aly and me with a great task, which is to continue taking reading to different areas of the territory.

In short, the experience of going to the book fair every year is priceless. This time we enjoyed it very much and we left doubly inspired. I hope you enjoy reading me and seeing the photos that I am sharing with you with much affection. For now I say goodbye, leaving you a big hug.

De paseo por la Feria del Libro de Venezuela (Ingles/ESpañol)

Un saludo amoroso para todos mis amigos de Hive, especialmente para los aventureros de los miércoles. Hace unos días tuve un paseo muy especial nada más y nada menos que a la Feria Internacional del Libro de Venezuela y debo decirles que fue una experiencia maravillosa. Fue un día soleado y radiante, perfecto para pasear entre las coloridas carpas repletas de libros y cultura. Como siempre, este tipo de eventos se realizan en la ciudad, así que no dudamos en tomar nuestra moto he viajar a la ciudad de San Cristóbal con toda la ilusión de participar una vez más es este gran evento.

Mi querida @aly.squid y yo llegamos muy temprano, ya que como cada año queríamos participar en el pabellón infantil leyendo con las niñas y los niños, que entusiasmados acuden a la feria del libro para descubrir nuevos cuentos y aventuras. Juntos recorrimos los diversos stands de editoriales nacionales e internacionales, hojeando libros y compartiendo nuestras recomendaciones literarias. Además con algunos pocos niños que había a esa hora, hicimos un pequeño círculo de lectura, compartimos la historia del libro Kaliebirri-nae kudeido y en seguida descubrimos las palabras de una bella sopa de letras.

Pero lo que más me emocionaba era la agenda de actividades culturales programadas para el día. Estaba especialmente emocionado por el conversatorio dirigido por el licenciado Néstor Curra, editor de la editorial Tinta Papel y Vida. Esta editorial ha sido pionera en la promoción de la literatura venezolana y especialmente para mí que he realizado varias rutas literarias a lo largo del estado Táchira promoviendo el libro y la lectura con algunos de los trabajos de esta bellísima editorial. Estaba ansiosa por escuchar las palabras del compañero Néstor Curra.

El conversatorio fue realmente inspirador. Néstor Curra compartió su pasión por la literatura y la importancia de promover la lectura en la sociedad venezolana. Nos habló sobre los desafíos y oportunidades que enfrentan los escritores y editores en el país. Pero lo más hermoso es el respeto y amor con el que el profesor curra trabaja con los niños y las niñas quienes también formaron parte del conversatorio.

Pero la emoción no terminó ahí. Después del conversatorio, nos dirigimos al escenario principal para presenciar la presentación poético-musical de nuestra querida amiga Celia Marcano. Celia es una talentosa música, que ha cautivado a audiencias en todo el país con su repertorio emotivo y sus melodías profundas, enfocadas en promover la música tradicional venezolana.

Junto a Celia, varios poetas de la región y del centro del país se unieron en el escenario para compartir sus versos y emociones con el público. Fue un espectáculo extraordinario, lleno de poesía, música y amor por las letras. La atmósfera era mágica, y me sentí afortunada de ser parte de ese momento único.

Después de la presentación, tuve la oportunidad de conversar con algunos de los poetas y escritores presentes en el evento. Fue increíble escuchar sus historias y sus experiencias en el mundo de la literatura. Me sentí inspirada por la presentación de un bello libro que finalmente compre, ya que estaba relacionado al bello arte de contar cuentos y en sus páginas brindaba varias herramientas para dominarle mejor. Algo que representa para mí uno de mis más grandes intereses.

Al final del día, mientras me alejaba de la feria con un corazón lleno de gratitud y alegría, reflexioné sobre la importancia de eventos como este. La Feria Internacional del Libro de Venezuela no solo es un espacio para la venta de libros, sino también un lugar de encuentro y celebración de la literatura y la cultura. Es lamentable que solo pueda darse en la capital del estado, ya que en los sitios más remotos las niñas y los niños tienen menos posibilidades de acceder a los libros. Pero eso nos deja a Aly y a mí una gran tarea, que es seguir llevando la lectura a diferentes espacios del territorio.

En definitiva la experiencia de ir a la feria del libro cada año es algo invaluable. Esta vez lo disfrutamos mucho y salimos de allí doblemente inspiradas. Espero que disfruten leyéndome y viendo las fotos que con mucho cariño les comparto. Por ahora me despido, dejándoles un fuerte abrazo.
