The Way to Happiness

That day, the adventure began before sunrise. My wife, my husband, and our friends had planned a trip to the Morrocoy Keys, a beautiful national park with many natural settings perfect for enjoying a vacation by the sea. We were traveling from the center of the country, so it was inevitable that we would have to travel along the Way to Happiness, another name given to a good stretch of the Morón-Tucacas Highway, between Carabobo and Falcón states.

Ese día la aventura inicio antes de que saliera el sol. Junto a mi esposa y nuestros amigos teníamos planificado un viaje a los cayos de Morrocoy, un hermoso parque nacional con muchos escenarios naturales perfectos para el disfrute y las vacaciones junto al mar. Nosotros viajamos desde el centro del país, así que es inevitable que tengamos que pasar por el Camino a la Felicidad, otro nombre que se le pone a un buen tramo de la carretera Morón-Tucacas, entre el Estado Carabobo y el Estado Falcón.

Our Passage through Puerto Cabello, Carabobo State...

The car ride is a bit long, so we made two stops: one at the Aragua State exit and then in Puerto Cabello, Falcón State. There, we took the opportunity to have breakfast and take a dip in the pool, as well as enjoy the beauty of the road. Everything was beautiful that morning; the sky was azure blue, with few clouds, and the roads are usually covered in lush vegetation and the landscapes feature imposing mountains. Our destination was Boca de Aroa, near Tucacas in Falcón State, but we knew we would be making a mandatory stop on the Way to Happiness.

El viaje en automóvil es un poco largo, así que hicimos dos paradas, una en la salida del Estado Aragua y luego en Puerto Cabello, Estado Falcón. En esos lugares aprovechamos de desayunar y pasar el baño, además de disfrutar un poco de lo que ofrecía la belleza del camino. Todo era hermoso esa mañana, el cielo estaba azul celeste, con pocas nubes y las carreteras acostumbran a tener mucha vegetación y los paisajes de imponentes montañas. Nuestro destino era Boca de Aroa, cerca de Tucacas en el Estado Falcón, pero sabíamos que haríamos una parada obligatoria en el Camino a la Felicidad.

The real excitement begins upon entering Falcón State, where the Road to Happiness is located. We parked our cars and got out to walk this place as a group. The road, thousands of palm trees, and the ocean merge into a single place, extending at least to Boca de Aroa. It's meters and meters of a beautiful road, and although I'd traveled it before, I'd never gotten out of my vehicle to walk it. It's hot, yes, but the beautiful surroundings and the sound of the breeze make the effort worthwhile.

La verdadera emoción comienza al entrar al Estado Falcón, es ahí donde está el Camino a la Felicidad. Estacionamos los automóviles y nos bajamos para caminar este lugar en grupo. La carretera, miles de palmeras y el mar se unen en un solo lugar, que se extiende al menos hasta Boca de Aroa. Son metros y metros de una carretera hermosa, y aunque ya la había transitado en el pasado, nunca me había bajado del vehículo para caminar en ella. Hace calor, sí, pero la belleza del entorno y el sonido de la brisa hace que todo el esfuerzo de salir a caminar valga la pena.

Walking the Way to Happiness is a dream come true for me. I don't have a vehicle to take me on these adventures alone, but I have these good friends who dare to experience different emotions with me. I'd always traveled this route by public transportation, but getting off, walking, listening to the ocean, and feeling the breeze caress my face was something very special; even the smell was unique here. They took many photos along the road, but I did get close to the ocean, even though I knew we'd later go to one of the keys. It didn't matter; this day and this moment were perfect 🙏

Caminar en el Camino a la Felicidad es un sueño hecho realidad para mí. De momento no tengo vehículo para trasladarme yo solo a estas aventuras, pero tengo a estos buenos amigos que se atreven a vivir emociones distintas junto a mí. Siempre había transitado este camino en transporte público, pero bajarme, caminar, escuchar el mar y sentir la brisa acariciar mi rostro fue algo muy especial, hasta el olor era único aquí. Ellos se tomaron muchas fotos en la carretera, pero yo sí me acerqué al mar, a pesar de saber que más tarde iríamos a uno de los cayos, no importa, este día y este momento eran perfectos 🙏
