Hello friends, today is #TbtThursday. I'm moving back to the year 2021, it's a fairly recent memory, but a very special one. We were on August vacation when it was week 72 of the Hive Open Mic. It was the first time the community came together to do a common song, we all learned the song Simple Pretty Melody by @cabelindsay, which also had a Spanish version and my dad @armandolnrs, my mom @zorajr, my girl @jhoxiris and I were running a family music project @familia.linares.

¡Hola amigos, hoy es Jueves de #Tbt!. Me traslado al año 2021, es un recuerdo bastante reciente, pero muy especial. Nos encontrábamos en vacaciones de Agosto cuando corría la semana 72 del Hive Open Mic. Fue la primera vez que la comunidad se unió para hacer un canto común, todos nos aprendimos la canción Simple Pretty Melody de @cabelindsay, que también tenía una versión en español y mi papá @armandolnrs, mi mamá @zorajr, mi chica @jhoxiris y yo estábamos llevando un proyecto musical familiar @familia.linares.

We have never been a wealthy family that has the possibility to travel around Europe on their vacations; with a lot of luck we all coincided to go to the beach 😅 but especially in the August vacations we could get together, go to church together, watch movies, play UNO cards, have lunch together and the best of all: sing as a family. There is something that I always loved since the old Steem and that got 'mil por ciento' better with the arrival of Hive, and that is that idea of the Open Mic, where musicians always came to get extra earnings, but for us the important thing was the fun and the adrenaline of recording ourselves making music videos, something we had never done as a family even though we have always sung everywhere.

Nunca hemos sido una familia adinerada que tenga la posibilidad de hacer viajes por Europa en sus vacaciones; con mucha suerte coincidíamos todos para ir a la playa 😅 pero especialmente en las vacaciones de Agosto podíamos juntarnos, ir a juntos a la iglesia, ver películas, jugar cartas UNO, idearnos almuerzos y lo mejor de todo: cantar en familia. Hay algo que siempre amé desde el viejo Steem y que mejor´mil por ciento con la llegada de Hive, y es esa idea del Open Mic, donde los músicos siempre llegaban para obtener ganancias extras, pero que para nosotros lo importante era la diversión y la adrenalina de grabarnos haciendo videos musicales, algo que nunca habíamos hecho como familia aunque siempre hemos cantado en todas partes.

I am very grateful for the existence of the Hive Open Mic, thanks to that space we not only spent many pleasant moments as a family, but they have been recorded in videos, we even have our own youtube channel where I can see my dad singing hundreds of songs over and over again now that he is no longer with us. That week we rehearsed Cabe Lindsay's song over and over again, until the dreaded recording day arrived, and as if the individual effort we had to make wasn't enough, we came up with the brilliant idea of singing this song as a family too, with the idea of making an unofficial participation, but Cabe still took it into account for the final result of the common song ❤️

Yo agradezco mucho la existencia del Hive Open Mic, gracias a ese espacio no solo pasamos muchos momentos agradables en familia, sino que han quedado registrados en videos, hasta tenemos nuestro propio canal en youtube donde puedo ver a mi papá cantando cientos de canciones una y otra vez ahora que ya no está con nosotros. Esa semana ensayamos la canción de Cabe Lindsay una y otra vez, hasta que llegó el temible día de grabación, y por si no fuera poco el esfuerzo individual que debemos realizar se nos ocurrió la brillante idea de cantar también esta canción en familia, con la idea de hacer una participación no oficial, pero Cabe igual la tomó en cuenta para el resultado final del canto común ❤️

Don't think it's all roses when shooting the Hive Open Mic music videos, especially when there are so many people involved, but in retrospect love always wins out. I know that only one of us has left this world, but obviously this experience of singing together will never happen again. Watching these videos fills me with joy and makes me smile, but at the same time it fills me with a deep sadness and nostalgia that life is not and will not be the same, but the memories will always feel like a caress on the soul. That is why it is important to put aside the discomfort and practice tolerance, because as I always say now, you never know when the last time will be... I share with you our family video:

No crean que todo es color de rosas para grabar los videos musicales del Hive Open Mic y menos cuando hay tantas personas involucradas, pero en retrospectiva el amor siempre sale victorioso. Sé que solo ha partido de este mundo uno de nosotros, pero evidentemente ya esta experiencia de cantar todos juntos no volverá a ocurrir. Ver estos videos me llena de mucha alegría y me saca sonrisas, pero a la vez me llena de una profunda tristeza y de nostalgia de que la vida ya no es ni será igual, pero los recuerdos siempre se van a sentir como una caricia en el alma. Por eso es importante dejar de lado las molestias y practicar la tolerancia, porque como siempre digo ahora, nunca se sabe cuando será la última vez... Les comparto nuestro video en familia:
