When I'm curating posts I often don't have time to leave them in their entirety, so I'm glad you responded to this to remind me that I wanted to come back and read your post. I'm so glad your building is safe and that you are finally able to leave your home and not be in too much immediate danger. Seeing daily reminders of not being able to trust the ground under your feet will be difficult.
Thanks again! Yes, a month has passed since then, and I feel a bit calmer—especially because I’m fortunate enough to be in a building that has provided us with safety. I’m still dealing with some trauma, but I’m sure I’ll be okay eventually; I have to be. There are people whose lives were truly changed, and we need to stand in solidarity with them. Thanks, Melinda—you know I appreciate you a lot 🫂
