Phone Photography Contest 107 | Holy Monday

Holy Week was spectacular for me. It was a time of prayer, conversion, family, and lots of photos I took with my phone, especially at all the places I visited. The place I’m sharing with you today is a good example of this, it’s the place I visited last Holy Monday: the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Las Mercedes, Caracas. I’ve visited this church several times already to sing with my group; it’s one of the most beautiful churches in Caracas on the inside, and very popular, and it’s located among several beautiful and very modern buildings that are characteristic of this area of Venezuela’s Capital District.

The area is full of modern architecture on the outside, a beautiful garden in front of the church, and a romantic façade and interior design. All these unique features make it special and eye, catching for those who love photography. Even though I shared a post about this place a year ago, I wanted to take some new, exclusive photos to share for Week 107 of the Hive Mobile Photography Contest, organized by @untilwelearn, a space I really enjoy and where I always feel inspired to keep learning a little more about this niche of photography.

This time, there were decorations for Holy Week, along with many visitors and a sense of reverence inside the church, but I always manage to slip in to take photos during opening or closing hours, when all the church’s art is available to me. The architecture and the color scheme make this place magical, especially for first, time visitors, so I’m happy to share a little bit of it here on Hive so everyone can appreciate it, both Venezuelans and my international friends on the blockchain.
