Alhambra, A Place Where Peace Breathes! [Eng-Esp]

Since I was a child I always heard wonderful stories about the Alhambra, a place with a lot of history and that despite the passage of time still retains a very mystical atmosphere. Like the rest of Spain I never thought of visiting a place like this, for me it was a dream, but God and music had this destination planned for me, my wife and the rest of my co-workers. Being there, with the pleasant weather of early spring and the singing of birds was a heavenly experience, no matter the amount of tourists in the place, it did not affect me, they all share the same energy of love and magic of knowing that they are in a sacred place like this.

Desde niño siempre escuché historias maravillosas sobre La Alhambra, un lugar con mucha historia y que ha pesar del paso del tiempo sigue conservando una atmósfera muy mística. Al igual que el resto de España jamás pensé en visitar un lugar como este, para mí era un sueño, pero la Dios y la música tenían este destino proyectado para mí, para mi esposa y el resto de mis compañeros de trabajo. Estar ahí, con el agradable clima de inicios de primavera y el canto de las aves fue una experiencia celestial, no importa la cantidad de turistas en el lugar, no me afectó, todos comparten la misma energía de amor y magia de saberse en un lugar sagrado como este.

It was a long walk, surrounded by a lot of vegetation along the way and then it becomes an architectural surprise with so many old stone buildings. I confess that I did not visit all the places, I was only there for a few hours and I think it is necessary at least a full day to know each place, besides, I was close to dusk and I could not enter all the places, but just walking through the long courtyards transmits peace and makes you appreciate every detail.

Fue un largo recorrido a pie, rodeado de mucha vegetación en el trayecto y luego se convierte en una sorpresa arquitectónica con tantas edificaciones antiguas de piedra. Confieso que no visité todos los lugares, solo estuve ahí unas horas y creo que es necesario al menos un día completo para conocer cada lugar, además, estuve cerca del anochecer y no pude entrar a todos los lugares, pero el simple caminar por los largos patios te transmite paz y te hace apreciar cada detalle.

Of all the temples and sacred places I visited on this day, the Palace of Charles V was the intended site of our musical performance. The facade was very imposing, but the courtyard inside the building made my skin crawl from the first moment I entered. Here we did a flashmob and surprised the tourists that were in every corner, that was one of the best moments I have lived, one of those that are unique and unforgettable, I will share the video that I shared on 3speak months before at the end of this post 😉

De todos los templos y lugares sagrados que conocí este día, el Palacio de Carlos V fue el sitio destinado donde haríamos nuestra actuación musical. La fachada era muy imponente, pero el patio dentro de la edificación me estremeció la piel desde el primer momento en que entré. Aquí hicimos un flashmob y sorprendimos a los turistas que se encontraban en cada rincón, ese fue uno de los mejores momentos que he vivido, de esos que son únicos e inolvidables, les compartiré el video que compartí en 3speak meses antes al final de este post 😉

In some temples I found people praying, but at the same time there were people taking pictures in every corner, all happy and all with a high respect for the place where they were. I walked for hours with my wife and I am sure we still missed to know much more about the Alhambra, but it is one of those tourist destinations where the wonders never end, the more you walk the more you discover.

En algunos templos encontré personas orando, pero a la vez había personas fotografiándose en cada rincón, todos felices y todos con un alto respeto por el lugar donde se encontraban. Caminé por horas junto a mi esposa y estoy seguro que aún nos faltó conocer mucho más sobre La Alhambra, pero es de esos destinos turísticos donde las maravillas nunca acaban, mientras más caminas más descubres.

This wonderful place in Granada is one of the most important tourist destinations in the world. The hours I was there I could appreciate people of different nationalities, speaking many languages that I did not understand, but at the same time the communication flowed with the people with whom I had some contact. I am glad to have visited this place with my now wife, we knew it would be a good omen, as the expectations were very high and in fact being there left us short of what we imagined. Those who have the opportunity to visit Spain, I recommend without a doubt that you visit the Alhambra and let yourself be enveloped by the peace that transmits a place where prayer has been the protagonist for several centuries.

Este maravilloso lugar en Granada es uno de los destinos turísticos más importantes del mundo. Las horas que estuve ahí pude apreciar a personas de diferentes nacionalidades, hablando muchos idiomas que no entendía, pero a la vez la comunicación fluía con las personas con quien tuve algún contacto. Me alegra haber visitado este lugar junto a mi ahora esposa, sabíamos que sería un buen augurio, ya que las expectativas estaban muy altas y de hecho estar ahí nos dejó cortos en lo que imaginábamos. Quienes tengan la oportunidad de visitar España, les recomiendo sin duda alguna que visten La Alhambra y se dejen arropar por la paz que transmite un lugar donde la oración es protagonista desde hace varios siglos.
