La gran procesión mariana de la Divina Pastora, celebrada cada 14 de enero en Barquisimeto, Edo. Lara, extiende sus efectos positivos durante varios meses más por medio de la peregrinación de esta reliquia espiritual de la Arquidiócesis a diferentes parroquias. Desde el día de ayer hasta hoy, le tocó recibirla a la parroquia donde presto mis servicios sacerdotales, y fue una vez más una experiencia maravillosa, incluso desde antes con la preparación, ya que varios de los servidores de la comunidad se avocaron a acondicionar el templo y sus alrededores para su llegada y estadía.

De la misma manera, puedo resaltar que la participación de la feligresía fue fenomenal y asombrosa, celebré dos Misas, de bienvenida y despedida con una muy buena concurrencia de fieles, considerando además que son días de semana. Por otra parte, como signo distintivo de esta visita tuvimos la compañía de una academia de baile flamenco que nos obsequió el acompañarnos en una misa "Sevillana", puesto que Sevilla es la cuna de devoción a la Divina Pastora, por lo tanto, si queremos comprender sus raíces no podemos obviar este acervo cultural.

Además de las Eucaristías, personas particulares y grupos de apostolado ofrecieron sus respectivos homenajes a la venerada imagen: cantos, poesías, obras manuales, rosarios, bailes, etc. Hicimos dos procesiones: una nocturna, desde donde realicé la primera misa hasta la sede parroquial y la otra, hoy por la tarde, luego de la misa de despedida para hacer entrega de la imagen a otra comunidad. En el trayecto, unas personas prepararon su altar, otras adornaron sus casas, y en algunas otras se notaba su profunda devoción y gran emoción de contar con esta oportunidad tan hermosa, un pequeño 14 de enero.

Visit of the Divine Shepherdess to my parish community

The grand Marian procession of the Divine Shepherdess, celebrated every January 14 in Barquisimeto, Lara State, extends its positive effects for several more months through the pilgrimage of this spiritual relic of the Archdiocese to different parishes. From yesterday until today, it was her turn to receive her to the parish where I render my priestly services, and it was once again a wonderful experience, even before with the preparation, since several of the servants of the community were engaged in preparing the temple and its surroundings for her arrival and stay.

In the same way, I can highlight that the participation of the parishioners was phenomenal and amazing, I celebrated two Masses, welcome and farewell with a very good turnout of faithful, also considering that they are weekdays. On the other hand, as a distinctive sign of this visit, we had the company of a flamenco dance academy that gave us the gift of accompanying us in a "Sevillian" Mass, since Seville is the cradle of devotion to the Divina Pastora, therefore, if we want to understand its roots we cannot ignore this cultural heritage.

In addition to the Eucharist, individuals and apostolate groups they offered their respective tributes to the venerated image: songs, poetry, manual works, rosaries, dances, etc. We made two processions: one at night, from where I celebrated the first mass at the parish headquarters, and the other, today in the afternoon, after the farewell mass to deliver the image to another community. On the way, some people prepared their altar, others decorated their houses, and others showed their deep devotion and great emotion to have such a beautiful opportunity, on a small January 14.
