Expansion of the existing Veggie Garden

all is planted so far.jpg
↑This was how it was in 2022 when I first got the walls up.↑
Last year, I did practically nothing in the garden. I am feeling a bit better about stuff now, so I've been busting my butt.
I first removed the center section (I had it intended as a walk space so I wouldn't harm the plants, it was too narrow for that, so it was wasted space) then I doubled the length

step one increase.jpg

Day two of actual work.jpg
Ladies and Germs, I am here to tell you that new section busted my ba**s, so full of roots and rocks.
Tilling begins.jpg
I actually blew a GFCI outlet at one point.

That was the end of day two days ago, I was finding some strange, cat shaped roots.

The roots of all evil.jpg

↑The Roots of all Evil↑

End of day yesterday. I SINNED at one point, took my chain saw and got the chain into the dirt a little.
Bad Jerry, very bad.

Chopping out large roots.jpg
That was an all day job

Day three.jpg
So this morning, I tilled through just trying to get it homogenous, then added a barrow load of REAL MULCH from my pile in the back

Day three actual mulch from my pile.jpg
A bag of "Black Kow" Manure and a bag of potting soil all tilled in together

Black Cow manure already applied, now potting soil mix.jpg

Tilling in to mix.jpg
THEN, I readjusted the irrigation heads.

Irrigation set up.jpg

It is still spraying outside the margins at the middle, but it definitely reachs both ends.
I will put some potted things there to make use of the over spray
I'm just making more and more work for myself ha ha.

this brings me back to high school where we planted tomatoes and eggplant in our agriculture class. we got extra points once we harvested the fruit. can't wait to see your garden grow.

Three years ago I had more tomatoes, squash and cucumbers than I could use.
Lots of banana peppers and other peppers as well, poblanoes etc.
I also have Rosemary, Basil, several types of Oregano and Thyme
I have a "Bee Balm" plant in the center of the veggie garden and another in front with my flower bed.
Thanks @itz.inno

These are over on the north side of my house. I have these plants, but this is the app that identifies which ones specifically

I have Sweet Basil between that and

Haven't really owned a garden of my own and looking at this now only makes me wish I had one. I love the expansion, it was a whole lot of work. At least, it will give the plants enough space to grow well. Well-done 🙌

You can see that it was quite a tiring job, but I must tell you that it seems very well done to me. Regarding the middle section that you removed, it seems like the best option to me. At first I thought that you had only added it to separate some type of vegetable from another; but then I read about the real reason you put it there and to walk on it it did look quite narrow and you are not a member of the circus hehehe Everything you have advanced until the last photo you posted seems to me to have been ideal and I want to see when it is completely full of vegetables.

It seems that you worked very hard, but I am sure that the fruits of that effort will soon be seen. I encourage you, you are doing very well!
