In the Zornica house, between fairy tale and reality
Hello everyone. Yesterday I wrote about my arrival in the ethno-eco village of Zornica house in Bacevac, near Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. In addition to being located in a beautiful, spacious natural environment, this place also offers very tasty traditional food. And the house in which the restaurant is located looks like a house from a fairy tale.
When you enter inside, you are enveloped by some warmth and coziness.
It is also very warm because there is a fire in the fireplace.
Inside there is a small library and lots of interesting objects from the past.
There is also a national costume from the central part of Serbia.
As well as homemade juices and famous Serbian brandy called "rakija".
We ate dishes called "ustipci" and "cevapi", both are made from minced meat, but ustipci also have some additions like cheese, bacon and onions... The food was very tasty and just like home.
What impressed me the most was a room from the past.
A lot of interesting items from the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century were there and it was interesting for my children to find out what they were for.
It reminded me of my great-grandmother's room, which had an identical tapestry with two peacocks on the wall.
There are also tables in front of the house, and when the weather is nice it's very crowded and you can hardly find a seat.
The wish of the hosts is to bring their guests closer to the way of life in an old Serbian household, and they fulfilled that wish very successfully.
The good thing is that you can let the kids play outside on the slides and in the little houses while you relax in your own way.
Another good thing is that here you can rent accommodation in modern apartments located in the so-called zone of silence.
And the best thing is that here you can also see cute animals that I will write about in the next post. 😊
Thank you for reading.

Lapel seems like a charming and historic place, even though it's small. The peaceful atmosphere and sense of history sound really interesting. I can imagine the train station and streets adding to that nostalgic feel. It's great to explore places like this, where the little details tell a story. Looking forward to hearing more about your experience! Have you visited other towns like this?
I'm constantly exploring the area and finding interesting places like this. There are many ethno villages like this in my country and they are very popular because people miss nature and local food more and more... Thanks🤗
Amazing! It’s wonderful that you have so many ethno villages to explore in your country. There’s something truly special about reconnecting with nature and savoring authentic local food. These experiences must feel so enriching, especially when they allow you to connect with tradition and culture in such a personal way. What’s your favorite activity or dish to try when you visit these places? 😊
