Babylon beach at the foot of Ancient Stagira in Greece

At the foot of Ancient Stagira, which I wrote about in my previous post, there is Babylon beach, which we visited that day.

It was so hot outside that I just couldn't wait to dive into the water. When we arrived, I admired that vast expanse that seemed to merge with the sky. The water here is quite shallow and that's one of the reasons we came because my kids still don't know how to swim and this is the ideal place for them to relax a bit and start learning.

And that's exactly how it was. They relaxed and did not want to get out of the water. They didn't learn to swim, but my son learned to dive a bit with a mask.

The water there is transparent and very clean. I recommend it to everyone who has small children.

The closest town to this beach is Olympiada, and nearby are Stavros, Ierissos and, about 40 km away, Ouranopolis, the last place on Athos where it is allowed to go without a permit. The holy Mount Athos starts from there. A permit is required to go there and women are not allowed to enter.

The sand is light in color and does not stick, which I particularly liked.

The beach is surrounded by rocks and everywhere you turn the area has stunning landscapes.

There is also a large camp on the beach. Many tourists come here for camping. So if you like that type of vacation, this beach can be a great choice for camping. It is surrounded by a forest, so you can stay in the natural shade.

I used every moment to swim with my kids in the warm, beautiful water. Also, there are a lot of shells hidden in the sand here so it's very exciting to find them.

If you find yourself in Chalkidiki, near Athos, don't miss the opportunity to visit this beach. And not only that beach, but also all the others that are located at the foot of the Ancient Stagira because each one is worth visiting and beautiful.

Thank you very much for reading.

The images and writing are original and mine.

Looks great! We've only been to the beach once so far since moving here, but looking forward to it again soon.

It looks even better live. This beach is particularly beautiful because of the light sand and crystal clear water. We will definitely go there again.

It certainly seems to me that all beaches are better in person! I can only imagine the feel and sound of that one!
