An educational adventure in the Little Danube center
Hello everyone. I hope you are doing great. I was away for a while due to the treatment of my children's seasonal illnesses, but now we are fine and we continued to enjoy our adventures that I will share with you. 😊
A few weeks ago, I visited a unique place with my family that brought us closer to nature and the past. The impressions were so intense that when we returned home we felt like we were returning to some other, not so beautiful world of polluted air and heavy traffic.
It is a Little Danube, a living model of the Danube river, a place of entertainment, relaxation and education.
When I heard some time ago that the students of the Faculty of Agriculture in my city, Belgrade, designed and implemented a project that will bring children closer to nature, a healthy life and education, and not only children, but also all of us, by awakening environmental awareness and a research spirit, I knew I would love this place.
When we arrived it was already late in the afternoon. The center was full of children from a school that organized a group visit to this place. They were curiously watching the frogs that occasionally come out of the pond and climb onto the water lily leaf.
It was a hint to my son that he would have a great time here. We started to explore...
"Little Danube" was created in the bed of a former polluted stream that was purified, so this project had a significant impact on the protection of the environment and turned a once abandoned and polluted place into a center that brings new experiences and provides opportunities for unique enjoyment in the natural environment.
It was so relaxing to look at the water and the people sailing the boat.
A very pleasant and relaxed atmosphere was felt. People rested, chatted and drank while the children ran around and explored. My son was delighted with the climbing ship and we spent some time there.
He recently started school, so he is very motivated to learn and also to teach.
After listening to his lecture, we entered the aquarium.
There we saw various types of fish that live in the Danube: carp, bream, tench...
My son also wanted to see the birds that live on the Danube, so we visited them all.
We also saw other animals, wild boars, donkeys, rabbits...
It's a big area, we walked around and explored.
We liked the suspension bridge a lot and it was exciting to cross it all over again and explore the fishing village across the way.
My son was very curious to see the fishing village and peek into the fisherman's house.
It was so lovely inside. People used to not need to have a lot of space for everything that makes up life. The river and a small house with a modest interior were enough.
On the other side, crossing the suspension bridge, you reach the island of evolution, where you can learn about the origin of man and the living world in general by walking in a circle along the path around the wooden house.
My son loved this and crossed the road several times. And he also learned that man did not come from monkeys, but that monkeys and humans came from the same ancestors. 😊
At the end, we tried our hand at rowing. 😊 And my daughter, who was sleeping until then, joined us. My husband rowed.
We enjoyed sailing on the little Danube. My children picked reeds and simulated oars.
It was an exciting and at the same time such a relaxing adventure. We learned a lot, had fun and returned home with great impressions.
Thank you very much for reading.
The images and writing are original and mine.
Greetings!

You all had a swell time, thinking about it now I just want to go to this wonderful place!
Oh yes, we all had a great time and you're welcome 😊
Oh this was pretty cool to read through. I'm passionate about greenery and agriculture in general. Not a big fan of animal farming though but that aquarium looks very nice.
I know that feeling of breathing in very fresh air. It's what greenery does, I was at a place like that myself, just last week.
More people need to, not only know the dangers of polluting the environment, but also experience the difference between that and these kinds of environment we visited. Maybe then, they'll do better.

The greenery is so relaxing for the eyes, a beautiful photo... We have to protect nature and this center is one of those projects that raise awareness about caring for the environment.
