A quiet day in Novi Sad: grief, unity, and autumn reflections
Hello everyone, it's been a while. I was very busy but here I am now. In the coming days, I will share with you some trips I have been on recently.
On November 1st, I traveled to Novi Sad to attend the commemorative gathering for the victims of the tragic canopy collapse at the city's railway station.

The moment we were traveling was special. We spent time in the column on the highway completely patient and guided by the same feeling, a quiet heaviness, an unspoken understanding shared by everyone who had come to pay their respects.

Hundreds of people stood together in silence, forming a crowd of solidarity that didn't need words to express the depth of collective grief. It was emotional in a way that stays with you long after the moment passes.

The early November autumn wrapped Novi Sad in a soft palette. Trees along the streets, leaves, it was very inspiring to walk. After the gathering, when we paid our respects, we took a short walk through the center.

Life moved gently around us, cafes opening for the afternoon, people carrying their everyday stories.

The city's architecture added a unique backdrop to the day.

As we walked through the center afterward, the graceful facades of baroque and neoclassical buildings seemed softened by the autumn light.

There was something profoundly grounding in that town: the stillness of the commemoration and the calm, steady rhythm of autumn. Novi Sad managed to hold both sadness and warmth at the same time, reminding us that even in moments of loss, community and presence matter deeply.

Thank you for reading.

What a moving tribute to the victims of the incident. The city reminds us that life goes on regardless of circumstances and that we can always show solidarity with the families of those who are no longer with us.
I have not been to Novi Sad in quite some time now. I have friends there. Maybe I visit next year again. My last visit was October 2023
Previous years, like my first trip June 2017 I was able to go by train from Vienna (but from Budapest onward, it was a very slow trip), later years that changed, the rail on the Serbian side was under construction (it still is, as far as I know). That latest time 2023 I went by bus.
Your photography skills are really great. Every photo seems so alive. And the places you travel to are also very beautiful, especially the architecture of the buildings.
